I always heard that grande is quicker off the line as compared to the Civic. I had a friendly check a couple of weeks ago and guess what my civic completely destroyed the grande with grande in D and Manual both the times. However, my friend had no idea about the sport button so we didn't try grandes sport mode at all where as my Civic was in sport mode both of the times we dragged.

Sport mode just changes the ratio a bit, and ratios change at higher rpms. It doesn't restrict to higher rpms like normal cvt having S option as in civic. For that funkaari, i use manual mode..or shifters to change ratios near redline..and it really takes off.

Since its cvt, that's why m writing ratios and not actual gears. So far atleast till 100-130, i found it quicker than Oriel..but not sure at top speeds as i just get crazy for new seconds

If it can happen in the USA, I can't imagine what will happen in Pakistan.

Have you ever tried to drag with a Civic? I had the same impression earlier but it's completely opposite if you start from a stand still.
It's different in a roll on though. If you lock both the cars in 40km grande takes a slight edge, it's like half a bonnet ahead then the Civic but never completely over takes the Civic. ( Tried this from 40 to 80 km)
But, i am saying it again : my Civic completely destroyed the grande from standstill. ( tried 2 times with Grande In Manual and D where as Civic was on S both of the times)

I don't actually get involve in drags so i didn't but in my office, friends do have this habbit and the only car Grande lost to was a Turbo. Even in international reviews, 2ZR is faster than R18. Actually i m afraid of the accidents actually

Has anyone had corrosion on their new Civic's battery? I saw corrosion forming on my car's battery left terminal - the car is just couple of months old. Is it normal on a new car?

Well, turbo is a completely different league altogether so let's not bring it in the grande vs oriel comparison.
That's what everyone says: grande is quicker then the oriel but i experienced something completely opposite. There are only 3 scenarios where grande could've been quicker:
Sport mode (it wasn't engaged)
Pedal wasnt floored( mat in between the floor and the pedal)
Car was faulty
I'll try once again after ruling these out and will post my results here.

Bhai you are correct and its almost the same condition in every other KAROBAAR in Pakistan....in the last 15 to 20 years the mentality of these KAROBARI people has changed alot..." Customer is the king" concept is now remains only in books....i remember in early and even in late 90s they treated the customers humbly and tried to make loyal customers by giving them respect but now sab k pait bharay huay hain...they dam care about customers laina hai to lo warna agay barho....this is the concept now....
