Has anyone's civic turbo clocked more than 60,000 Kms? If yes, kindly share your feedback regarding the performance of turbo and the engine itself and any issues that one is facing.

I hv seen a 115k driven turbo working perfectly fine except a few rattles

I need a bit of guidance. But before I ask the question, a bit of back story. In 2017, I made a pay order to Atlas Honda in the full amount for a Civic Turbo with 4 year extended warranty. During the time that I was still waiting to take delivery, Atlas contacted me and said that if I changed my order from Turbo to Oriel, they would deliver the car in a week. At this time the Turbo was in the thick of all the engines blowing up etc. etc. etc. so I accepted and got my Oriel in a week or so.

Now here is the question: Should I sell my Oriel and go for the Turbo? I have been reading this forum in the hope that I may come across anyone sharing their experience with the relaunched Turbo. Maybe I might have missed it. At the risk of repeating your post, if anyone has taken delivery of the relaunched Turbo (either Oriel or RS) please update me. Many thanks.

I have only seen 3 rs turbos ever since its relaunched, a friend bought the relaunched old non facelift version when it was for 3.5 million. He has faced no but its sort of his weekend car and very less driven.

You don’t see the turbo selling its not because of problems its more to do with the price and now since people put in but more money and buy sportage.

Civic x problems: Ac evaporator, steering rack
Turbo problems: melting plugs, knocking
But as far as i can say these have been solved.

42 lacs turbo oriel
So 4-5 lac difference for an engine and nothing else why not add 2 more and buy the Rs turbo?
So it ends up to 47 lacs.
Not worth the money.

If you have budget, then go for Turbo whether Oriel or RS.

There is no issue of Turbo engine

Rest since you already own Oriel, you know the car.

The latest Turbo is nowhere to be seen. Very limited number of buyers and a super poor market share because of price and a proof of which is: Atlas made a stupid failed attempt to launch a cheaper variant

The Oriel Turbo will be an even poor choice with only a gap of 150k with RS after adding Navigation screen and I doubt anyone spending that much will save it to miss spoiler, paddle shift and 17” rims

If you give me an option of wasting 5 Million on a Civic I would get a Sportage because I would simply feel like an idiot on the road with a 2016 Civic even an Oriel or Hardtop having same shape and road presence standing next to my 5 Million Civic

So if you want a Civic then go for a Sportage

Turbos in general are nowhere to be seen. You will hardly see even a 2016 2017 model on the road.

I disagree to this . Yes Oriel is more in numbers but if one travel regularly, then we see Turbo almost daily.

2016-17 can still be seen but 2019 onwards scene is seriously off.

I guess it’s location specific. In Islamabad I see maybe 1 or 2 after every 1 or 2 days. I’ve seen 2-3 RS Turbos so far in total.

@qwertypoiu, your detailed analysis has been most helpful. My wife is of the opinion to just replace the white Oriel with another Oriel (plain one) but Silver this time around as it the cheapest option.

@arkhitekt, as far as the SUV (Sportage) is concerned, I am quite impressed with it, Driven in one and found it very nice. But 54k is a bit steep. Also we already have a 7 seater vehicle with massive cargo space with all 7 passengers aboard - so the SUV is off the list at the moment.

@msabbasi bhai I was referring to the fwd variant for 46 lakh because a car this size which is being replaced for Civic (which is also fwd) doesn’t really need awd. And since that also has panoramic roof and all other goodies except a few minor non important ones so that makes it a sweet deal over a saloon

Will be going for 16/17/18 model as per budget.

Suggestions on what things shall i throughly look for before making deal (keeping in consideration the manufacturing faults like steering rack, AC, battery etc.)

Also, need advise on expense to cater the renowned issues like Steering, AC etc. for me to keep these expense in mind once i own one.

Where to get these fixed? Open market or Honda

Buy mine. Rack ect. all aready replaced. 50,000 runing all servive at Honda Classic. White 2017. Only problem Islamabad.

Sir your suggestion was noted about the cheaper one but I prefer the top of the line if I can manage.
