AoA everyone, i v been reading a lot of criticism on launch of turbo oriel and price of civic. Some fellows also went on to call their cars as f....ng something.
Fellows. Please try to understand that Honda has not done anything unusual. Rather their product lineup is still way affordable if we compare honda's cars with other vendors in Pakistan e.g. XLI, Grande and Suzuki's line up are easy examples.
Every car company has variety in their line up. Even in USA same 2.0 and 1.5T engines are offered as LX, EX, EX-T, Touring, Sports combinations with differnce of LED lights,
rims and spoilers etc. So no heavens have fallen down if honda has converted 3 variants into 4 by launching oriel turbo. It happens all over the world.
Moreover we all bash honda for being pricey. Did we see any mercy at the hands of Korean and Chinese Vendors. Take example of Kia Sportage. Simple 2.0 engine with 156HP and a AWD axle is sold at 55 lacs. Sportage all over the world is 2.4 with 180HP engine.
Look at chinese DFSK and other Hyundai cars. Not a single Sedan equivalent to Civic specs is being offered in price equivalent to civic. All are sucking maximum from their customers.
Similarly look at Audi lineup, even their shitty A3 is above 50lacs.
Then if we talk of road sensing features, visit BMW/ AUDI / MERCEDES outlets in lahore, None is offering road safety and ADAS suites in their cars.
Similarly what Hyundai and Kia did to Pakistani customers. They came in 2000-07 and just abandoned their customers. The whole of car value and market went nose dive for their product buyers. The Sportage's previous model of 2003-07 was sold on shit prices once company ran away. These clowns will do the same if their business doesnt run again and will simply dump their buyers.
Lastly, we should be happy that world renowned compay like Honda is still holding on to our market.
A word about civic price. It is sold from 18000-26000$ in Usa. If we simply convert it, it makes over 30 lacs and remember their taxes are much lesser than ours. Its not the honda which is making us suffer, its the government policies. Ruthless 300% tax plus FED. Moreover, mockery of PAPAM which is allowing local vendors to import parts from same Honda and Toyota plants in thailand etc instead of compelling them to make it in Pakistan. Honda and Toyota have repeatedly complained Government that these PAPAM goons are selling their own parts on double prices.
Long story short. Enjoy your car and be happy that at least a world class product is available in Pakistan. Not some chinese or korean defaulters and goons who will just run away if they are unable to mint money with stupid products.
