Yes, my brother in law’s car is now awaiting 3rd rack replacement. Already changed twice and both replaced racks developed issue

Car becomes heavy
Fuel economy improves

But if you drive it with light pedal then you ll get same economy with more responsiveness when required.

In nutshell, there isn't much to gain

1.5T [ CVT ] and 2.0L [ CVT & Manual ]
1.5T manual is Si, which requires premium fuel.
Regular is 91 octane and Premium is 97.
US gallon > 3.785L

The individual with Civic x rust issue already took up the case with dealers.. nothing happened. On my end I started Collecting data and got in touch with 14 different individuals out of which 6 sent me the picture of the issue while rest either sold the car after fixing the rust problem or repaired it and still using it. There was no help from manufacturer.

I wrote a post on it and added pictures, the post got viral and reached out to the higher management at Atlas. Via an indirect channel , I was asked to remove the post which i didnt . I still have a blog on editorial in draft for PW which didnt publish as the the chief editor resigned and I am waiting for next reasonable person to publish it. So, you, me, I , we are working on making things better and as much as we can.

When the owners contacted Honda what happened? they booted them out? Are new cars at dealers also rusting like this?

Nothing happened same like they are giving runaround to owners with EPS assembly. They were not entertained on rust issue. They just said we will talk to compnay and rest everything is "taain taain fish "..

For EPS, it's an issue with the part and many car owners are facing and although in some cases they fix it in warranty and most cases they use delay tactics and when car goes out of warranty then they say, now they have to pay 200K to fix it. Keep in mind most of these cars just completed the 3 year life time on the road

EPS problem should be a recall and should be fixed even if the vehicle is outside warranty time because it's so frequent that every second or third Civic has it replaced.
