Did you see any yellow light blinking in the dashboard while you were driving????
Honda ECU logs all failures and other such actions in the system memory. Do following.
Go to the dealer and tell them that your car had shut down abruptly again and you are not satisfied with the fuel pump job.
Tell them to hook up a computer with the car and ask them to look for all fault codes stored in the memory. Dont let them delete the data and note down all the codes. Dealing with these codes is a separate discussion.
There has to be some kind of code indicating the cause of this abrupt shutdown.
More chances are that the code would be of some fuel system linked function.
Incase there is no code, then It Could be crank sensor which has started to malfunction slowly, because once it starts to fail, it feeds wrong crank data to the ecu and overall car timing fails.
I am sure of this becoz in my 7th gen and even in 8th gen, when this crank culprit starts to fail, it initially feeds wrong data to ecu which lets ecu accept it as a correct data but the car faces sudden shut downs. It is at the very later stage that the ecu starts to detect the sensor failure.
Also try to get your fuel lines air flushed at the dealership. By fuel lines, i mean supply and return lines from pump to injector rails and back. Also give a backup look to your fuel tank in case it is dirty and dirt particles are choking the fuel lines.
I still believe your crank sensor might be the hidden culprit and it beahves this way during initial failure stages.
Moreover, try to put your car under stress. Keep the ac at full and drive it lil hard for engine to heat up optimally. Once you spend almost 30 mins after reaching fully hot engine bay environment your fuel pump and crank sensors which ever is failing would start to fail.
I am sure InshAllah you'll find the problem. By the way what is your car model year and is it under warranty????
