Respected forum members, i doubt that my car's rear struts/shock absorbers are failing. The ground clearance has dropped. Please share your experience. It is july 2018 manufaxtured, 36000 kms done. Driven mostly on the highway with a driver only. P.S. Steering assembly changed/claimed at 21000 kms. And yes washed twice a week.

Was it always like this? Recently I saw another Civic that looked higher at the front, incidentally that was also a silver 1.8

It looked like this on day 1. Much higher from the rear than now. But still more raised from the front.

Shocks have no role in car height but springs does.

Springs usually go bad if you put too much weight for long time usually in trunk because a little weight in trunk has much more impact on springs and shocks.

So best option is to get brand new OEM rear springs from any honda dealership the will restore your car height and comfort.

No extra weight in trunk. Mostly driven with empty trunk.

Observe it for sometime. Do you feel change response from rear suspension?

Hoping everyone wod be fine. Guys I got my car hit at rear bumper as per below mentioned pic:

Guys give me idea, shod I get it fixed or go for bumper replacement under insurance.

If the bumper cover is not torn apart completely - I dont think insurance would allow to fully claim a new bumper cover.

This is a pretty cheap fix though with some plastic epoxy and fiberglas patch from inside if its cracked (which I dont think yours is). I see it done quite regularly and as its at the very bottom edge its not quite visible.

honestly, if its just a paint scuff - leave it alone, this happens almost everyday, drive on.

Its extremely unlike that suspension springs fail at this early stage. Genuine spring is quite a long lasting part.
How did you notice that?....through this picture or anything practical?.....
I remember once i also got in this impression that something has happened to the suspension but my observation was that on every small speed breaker its rear underneath body started getting in touch with the ground though it was never happened before. So after a thorough inspection from a dealer the culprit came out to be the tyre air pressure and believe me apparently the tyres didnt look like deflated. One of the tyre air pressure was like 17 psi and it looked perfectly fine to me.

So i am sure its not the spring problem there...

I noticed it visually and under load when the tyre goes through a pothole the typical civic "dhazz" noise has come which was not there when the ground clearance was normal. Probably the working distance of the shock and spring has decreased resulting in full compression of the both when tyre hits a bump. The car is under warranty I will give it a try at the 3S.

Brother check the tyre pressure first. Thats a very first thing you should do....it would be very unusual if its suspension has got some problem at this stage.

Guys, so as suggested by you guys to visit the dealership, as my Civic 1.8 Oriel (12k driven) was shutting off suddenly while driving. So today the dealer (Honda Shahra-e-Faisal, Karachi) checked the car on the computer and they said there are no errors or issues diagnosed.

The thing is my car just got the fuel pump replaced under warranty two weeks back after I was stranded on the road. Ever since, the car has suddenly stopped thrice while driving. It just starts and then drives fine again for a day or two like nothing has happened. Then suddenly it shuts off again ocassionally. There is also no warning light showing on the odometer) It's scary because it happens all of a sudden on the road.

Since the dealership has said the car has no issue, I filled up my entire fuel tank with Excellium Hi-octane to see if it's the fuel tank or fuel cleansing issue.

I don't know what else to do. Please guide me, guys.

Get your fuel pump checked again.

Have you got fuel tank cleaned or completely drained ?

Contact honda customer support and start a case for bad fuel pump.

If your dealer is trying to diagnose a fuel pump with an obd2 scanner.

Salam on their stupidity. 21 gun salute, the scan can only see if the pump is switched on or not.

I posted the actual diagnosis above, which I actually do when most shops fail, people got offended by my post though.

Anyway, fuel is not the issue, it needs to be diagnosed whether the pump is losing power or ground or is losing supply pressure.

It's a new car (12k km). Is there a need to get the fuel tank cleaned?

I dont live in Pakistan anymore. However, you should involve your bank and insurance if this car is financed.

Fuel pump failure while driving causes a dangerous to drive situation which can lead to injury to occupants and damage to property (your car).

bhai whenever torn part, it will be covered in insurance, but it is my advise k let it go, as bumper are very vulnerable and get damage nonetheless. however if is look odd get it replaced
