i recently booked Gli AT so i am worried

Why are you worried just because the change of thread title and opinion of starter of thread after two months or so ... every one his own likes and dislikes so I suggest do not follow some one blindly .. I mean one should judge his belongings according to his own taste and needs ... aap apni gari aik baar chlaa to laen,ager iss kay baad bhe psnd na aye to forn sale kr dejiya ga, Corolla hay aram say sale ho jaye ge, pehlay hee keon fikr kr rhay haen... zingi maen kayee U turn aatay haen or kisi dosray banday kay feslay ko itna dil pr nhee lena chahyia ...abhi to is thread maen ptaa nhee or kon kon say turn anay haen, shayed kuch purani posts delete hon kuch edit hoon, purani batoon ke bjaye naiye baataen hon... aap tyyar rhaen or fikr na kraen ... and lastly I wish speedy recovery of Fauad sahib

Well this was expected when you switch infact downgrade from Viper and get a GLi AT
90 % of the ppl who dispose off their 8th gen civics have 2 main reasons
Either they are tired of their manual tranny civics or they want to maintain their status since Reborn is an old car now
9th gen Civic beats it in terms of comfort fuel avg and interior layout but still 8th gen is better than 9th gen in most aspects
Same goes for Corolla vs 8th gen civic
I think it would have been much better if you had searched for a clean 2012 VTi Oriel Prosmatec 8th gen civic since manual transmission was the main problem in your case
But still , you have kept new corolla too and the car can fetch easily above control price the best thing about GLi
You can get a better car now

If you really need driving pleasure go for 8th gen civic again in auto transmission or try to get some thing imported now Honda Vezel if you have that budget because Local Honda City Corolla or 9th Gen Civic all are plain n boring if you have kept a legendary car like 8th gen civic in terms of pleasure and feel behind the wheel

I have posted this before but posting again to help you in choosing your variant in Corolla.

1.Altis 1.6 has alloys, nav ready infotainment system, Hi Grade fabric seats as mentioned on indus website (Please see),Extra two color Super White and Bronze Mica if you want to opt that and above all dual VVTI 1598cc bigger Engine. you can get after market alloys, infotainment system in the price range of 90k (125k-90k= 35k) but you cant replace 1.3 engine to 1.6 engine in 35k. Price difference between 1.3 Gli A/T and 1.6 Altis A/T is 125k.

2.It has dual VVTI engine as compared to Single VVTI engine in GLI A/T. As coated by our brother @ausbii

A. The engine on the 1.6 is not just bigger, it's newer and more efficient both in terms of fuel consumption and power output. NZ-FE(1.3)VVTI series vs ZR-FE(1.6)Dual VVTI.

B. The transmission on both is 4 speed super ECT but it's not the same. The 1.6 has an Aisin Warner (one of the worlds top transmission manufacturer) A341E original japanese transmission. The 1.3 has a toyota U341e which to the best of my Knowledge is from Thailand. The A341E is much smoother and more reliable. Also to consider is that the u341e is designed for 1.5l engines, not 1.3. It has a first gear ratio almost 1.5 times that of the first in manual gli and a second gear ratio equal to what would be a 2.75 gear of the manual while the third is equal to the fourth on the manual. That is why the 1.3 gli AT is significantly slow off the mark as compared to the gli manual. AT is always slightly slower than manual but the difference is quite significant here. The same specs go to the advantage of the 1.6 as the more powerful engine utilizes the lager gear ratios for a more rapid off the mark acceleration and even slightly better fuel economy than the competitions slower 5 speed with a 100cc smaller engine.

3.I do not believe that 1.3 Gli is an underpowered car . Many pakwheeler friends are satisfied with their power (you can see @fouadbakht bhai and @aliusman420 bhai thread . I didn't drive 1.3 Gli A/T 11 gen but i thing 1.6 drive will be more joyful as compared to 1.3 drive due to their gear ratio.

This is my opinion, hope it will help you in buying your car.

almost all auto transmissions (talking about 3-5 speed ones) have longer gear ratios than their manual counter parts for same engines and cars. i.e. a car that red lines its 2nd gear at 80 kph, its auto version would do above 100 in 2nd gear.

@thinking I have gone this road. But did it only with low beams because had hid in high beam.
Few months later HID burned off and I replaced them with stock toyota bulbs.. few months later narvas burned off as well. And when you switch you see a placebo effect that its better but when you switch back you know... it was not.

I am a Civic lover myself but Corolla is a better choice for our roads and harsh conditions
Both are equally good family sedans
After keeping all these three 8th 9th gen civics and new Corolla
I must say its an excellent family sedan and considering our harsh road , environment , weather and traffic conditions its the best choice for a daily driven family car ...
Yes thrill factor and top notch quality lies in civic
But that car always asks for plain smooth and ideal road conditions
I love driving my 8th gen civic and it gives great driving pleasure but i only drive it within Defence ...
Whenever i have to go to other areas i always go in Corolla
And this decade old 2nz fe 1.3 liter so called under powered engine takes 10 to 15 mins lesser than civic 1.8 for reaching karachi university for example from phase 8 DHA
Civic is fast no doubt about that but this corolla passes all broken roads of Gulshan and other areas with comfort and ease and at good avg speed
Its the best daily driven family car for Pakistan
And will always lead in sales because of this factor

I can understand why is he selling car

Reason is Car is heavily under powered and to much tacy in interior terms like no good finishing or fell of a 2 million rupees car

I have gone through this scenario I had corolla Gli 1.3 new shape after replacing my 2010 model and practically I liked my previous one

I sold my new shape corolla because of poor driving feel and under powered

Now shifted to Premio new shape which comes under almost same price tag with plus of 2lacs(car is well maintained ) and is much better in every aspect

If you want to enjoy corolla than at least Altis varient (sadly has poor resale and over priced t00)
