Fit and city have very different frames as well yet cause fit had 1.2 in its platform, they were able to put it into the city too. But on the other hand the 1.2 is pretty much the same engine as the 1.5, there's just a difference in stroke lengths of the pistons, that's why the top of the 1.2 is a bit lower than the 1.5, but otherwise they both look identical.
Problem with the civic is that r18 and turbo have completely different dimensions. I still personally feel atlas will put a 1.8 in the 11th gen if it's coming any time soon, maybe even a 2.0 k20 or r20 to replace the 1.8 finally. Otherwise I'm sure they'd keep on continuing with the 10th gen and 11th gen will either be highly delayed or won't come. The very low amount of leaks as mentioned by a user above do indicate that 11th gen isn't coming soon. The long booking times of current 10th gen aren't encouraging either. The discontinuation of rs turbo and base civic is a bit encouraging though.
Another option may be to keep on producing both 10th and 11th gen to compete simultaneously with Elantra/corolla and crossovers. A turbo only 11th gen will be too expensive compared to corolla and Elantra and they'll lose a reasonable size of the market. And then most people will still prefer tuscon and Sportage over turbo 11th gen too. Considering the difficulty of producing 2 gens of civic at the same time, especially as I don't see turbo for the 5m price getting much attention might not be financially viable for atlas. That's why I believe the current leaks are far too early and it may actually just be a 10th gen facelift being misstated as 11th gen new model.
