Honda Atlas already imported a 11th generation Civic around 5 months ago for development of PKDM Civic. Expect approx a year before the model arrives in Pakistan.

Yaris/Vios testing units were in pak years before their release, city 6th gen testing units as well. I remember seeing some posts regarding 12th gen corolla units in 2019. Multiple other cars have had testing units in pak but they never result in anything.

Plus due to the new welding technique required for the 11th gen, its production here might be pretty difficult as well. Most upcoming cars start getting heavy rumors from everywhere 1 year before their release usually, hasn't happened with 11th gen yet. Only a single rumor regarding the 11th gen is 1 testing unit. Stonic, Renault and Peugeot have been rumoured heavily for ages now without a release.

I really don't think we'd see 11th gen civic here anytime soon, especially if atlas can't put anything besides the l15 turbo in it. I'd love to be proven wrong cause I would love to buy it if it releases close to the rs turbo price. Another point in favour of atlas continuing 10th gen is that it doesn't seem like corolla or Elantra will be replaced with new models either, and people here seem happy with buying outdated gens in droves.

Most likely a combination of both. Technically lhd and rhd have very different fittings under the bonnets. In terms of market dynamics it probably wasn't worth it to do the r&d for the 2.0 and it was most likely determined that most rhd markets would prefer 1.8.

Another issue with the r18 might be like fazal wahab said it doesn't meet the emission standards. There's definitely a demand for na engines in the Asian markets as most countries got the new 1.5 na engine with the 7th gen city rather than the 1.0 turbo. Nowadays honda na engines above 1.5 are very mediocre cause honda is only focusing their development on the turbo engines, unlike Toyota which has made some amazing modern na engines. Still weird to see the k20 2.0 not being put in these markets, maybe due to tax and overall cost concerns they determined to keep 1.5t only.

Civic X was released within 7 months of International launch in Pakistan and in that case it was an altogether new platform and entire new assmbley line for Civic X from 9th generation.

The Civic XI just need additional assembly line requirements for aluminum and minor upgrades comparing the work required from 9th to 10th. As I said, the Civic XI is around a year away at this point which means around 18 months after global launch, comparing Civic X, it's almost a year extra time.

Stonic will be here within weeks while Peugeot is late because of issue with French protests. City got delayed because of Covid 19 in Pakistan , there were over 300 Atlas employee with Covid between June to October 2020. otherwise it was coming in late 2020 but pushed back to 2021 ONLy because of Covid shutdowns in factory and quarantine and government restrictions with no vaccines.

11th generation test unit is NOT a rumor, we have a documentary proof and you dont need dozen of units to develop a local model. You get CAD drawings and then the actual unit is brought in to develop local parts for it by local supplier using CKD kits.

At this point, we dont know exact timeline but I expect the Civic XI by next year this time or might be little earlier.

I'm not saying you're taking credit or anything, just a misunderstanding. Great that there's proof of it, would love to see them next year. Hopefully the price is at least a bit reasonable.

I had a grande which i sold recently for a crossover and i have a civic x and a swift.
All 3 vehicles have the same average 10-11.
My vehicles are extra ordinary maintained still it makes no difference, Currently all vehicles in the market give around the same average.
So this mileage thing is a myth and not a big difference at all.
I sold the grande cause i used it for bad roads and patches village trips etc which a civic cannot do.
So buying a crossover suits my needs.

U r lucky sir. Crossovers so far barely do 9-10 if driven with lightest possible foot and handling and pleasure is just pathetic at high speeds. Personally i m a sedan lover anyday

In Singapore, Civic has been detuned for tax purposes.

"The reason for the detuned engine is to ensure the Civic qualifies for a Category A COE, which is typically the cheapest among the five categories listed in the Vehicle Quota System (VQS) in Singapore. To meet Category A COE requirements, a car must have an engine displacement not exceeding 1,600 cc (1.6 litres) and a maximum output of 97 kW (132 PS or 130 hp), both of which the new Civic meets."

1.5 T would be same as in Current Turbo RS. Probably instrument cluster and headlights would be same which we will get here. It has rear ac vents as well. Except for Honda Sensing and black interior, we will get all other features. Probably this time ACC as well.

the new 1.5 turbo is sligtley more power full. so you know the engine remains the same but there are slight changes in the postfix for example,

I think this generation of Civic has Black interior only. No market so far has received any other color.

while on paper the turbo engine in the 11th gen is more powerful than the 10th gen, many foreign dyno reports are actually reporting that the new turbo in real life is down by 10-20 whp. 0-100 acceleration times are down by 1 second as well, while the weight has only slightly increased. I think the rs turbo here already was detuned compared to the original 2016-17 turbos to make it more compatible with our fuel, so the 11th gen in terms of power should be similar to it.

Apparently the new turbo l15 in 11th gen is similar to the l15 turbo in new accords and has proper vtec on the exhaust side. But I remember reading reports when the 10th gen came that the north american turbo does not have an actual vtec while asian market turbos do, so does that mean that 11th gen now has the same l15 turbo as asian market 10th gen civics? pretty confusing the huge amount of minor variations that honda has on these l15 turbos. the Japanese get the best versions though, with proper vtec on both the intake and exhaust and the most power. Idk why that variant is a japan exclusive only.

It is way less power than a 1.8 then. From 173-178 to 123-130 is a huge detune. Basically they have killed the fun factor.
