Toyota doesn't seem to charge anything if booking is cancelled due to price hike.

In my opinion only elite class can now afford to buy cars that too with own in Pakistan having a car is considered as symbol to be rich which is true ,now with leasing option gone only big business fishes/tycoons afford to own Civic with almost 7 million onroad price other cars also are'nt cheap
Plus its a trend in rich familes to flaunt who owns flani car first & how many cars etc

I don't think that we should blame the car companies for the price increase.
In 2016, the Dollar was around 100Rs. The invoice of civic x turbo was around 30 lacs.
Now, the dollar is 180+, which means 80% depreciation. Plus today the taxes are also more than in 2016. I think so this justifies the price of 65 lacs for Civic RS.

If we have to blame someone, we should blame the govt.

Sales kam nhn hoti, delivery milti nhn..Companies are clear that they can get what they demand. Horrible situation, and the worst part is many booked with 11-12 month wait time. Imagine the prices 12month from now. We cannot predict Next month prices now.

So where is all the localization these car companies feel proud of? As of Honda they are making Civic locally for over 2 decades now.. and still even import SHARK-FUN-TEENA from China.

All local companies are highly dependent on imports and not investing in local industry. Even their parent companies are not interested at all. They are also minting money in kits and parts and not transferring technology.

Government need to mandate and regulate minimum set localized part. Unfortunately even the localized parts uses imported raw materials.

These companies always blame dollar BUT no one is blaming them for not investing towards developing local industry and Government is equally responsible for not regulating it.

There is no localization benefit to us. Its so simple sir, they saw people happily paying 10 lacs as premium, and thye thought to take the money alone without even giving the car. Irony is delivery dates are insane and price has no stop whatsoever.

In 2016, Civic X was around 28k USD (top variant) in Pakistan and now its around 36k USD
