Proton did real time 16 months long testing of X70 in Pakistan before launching their product. The X70 3 cylinder 1.5T runs on the regular 91 octane. Extensive R&D work was done by Proton field team , optimizing the engine for the regular fuel.
Although personally I have still concerns about the regular 91 octane locally blended fuel which is full of MMT. Read > https://www.pakwheels.com/blog/mmt-harmful-fuel-octane-booster-still-being-used-in-pakistan/
PKDM 1.5T Civic was tuned for local 91 fuel after the famous knocking issues but most of owners still prefer the high-octane although the 1.5T Civic outside Pakistan runs on 91.
I think, 1.5T might be the sole engine option for the upcoming PK Domestic model Civic XI. I believe this will also increase the time of launch as Atlas might be working on the major issues of tuning the vehicle for country wide 91 octane fuel.
Well, we will know more in next few months what Atlas is upto. Maybe Atlas load the Civic with feature and option like Indonesian, market it as a "premium" model and offer it with 1.5T only and keep a higher sticker price/ above 5 Million.
R18 on Civic XI... seems low probability .. let's see..
Atlas brought an older generation of City . City is actually their main selling model and have been running the show for a very long time. Even being their main product, Atlas brought an older generation fully [ that too higher in price ] knowing that market has more options now. We can expect anything from Atlas.
There is also a rumor that Atlas is working on bringing HRV/ the older generation. https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/t/pkdm-honda-hr-v-on-cards-discussion-thread/1921941
