If only the dealers are involved in this, why are they all charging 12 lacs? What's stopping them from asking for more or even less than that?
I think there's more to it than that, they're not acting independently of Honda Atlas

Don't know how accurate this might be but saw someone's comment on Pakwheels post for 2022 Civic saying that a relative has booked it for delivery in May with an invoice price of 4,568,000, seems extremely unlikely though. He also said that price may increase to 50 Lac due to dollar or whatever excuse dealership gives them for Oriel varient so it's naturally aspirated (again very unlikely).

Again shameless from honda atlas. They shorten the vehicles availability in the market to somehow increase their demand and benefit their unofficial partners in crime.

Rally Red is the best color the 10th gen was offered in. It was THE color for the Turbo variant and looked absolutely kick ass. It certainly wasn't for everyone. My father swore to never drive a red Civic and we ended up with a silver one instead.

Yes it's still the best for the 10th gen, i myself was disappointed when getting my X that it was discontinued, but I'm talking about the 11th gen. The maturer design doesn't go with the sportier color. An X in rallye red is usually right next to that rallye red 11 and it still outshines it

Well the thing to note is that all of these dealers are getting the DD / PO in Atlas' name so they can not use this money themselves.

You guys are forgetting that Tesla does the exact same thing. It was 5 years ago when they took $20,000 as initial deposit for the Roadster which was supposed to be available in 2019-2020, and there is no sign of that car. I think they did the same for the Cybertruck as well.

Nobody knew about the delay obviously. The given timeline was about 2 years after the deposit. It's been 5 years now. Official or non-official, point is people do this kind of stupid shit all over the world, which is why manufacturers keep doing it.
