Exactly, and somehow that should stop people from discussing the cons of the technology being marketed? Everything is up for debate and people have varying ideas based on their experience with features/technology. But name calling and belittling others just because they don't agree with one's own point of view actually points to "narcissism".

Arrival of new technologies is extremely great sign for PKDM. At least we can say our vehicles are getting equipment as people get overseas.

while we are concerned about the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) as part of Honda sensing, I am more concerned or I would say the capabilities and performance of systems which rely on road marking using the camera , like Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) ,Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS). Most or our road markings are faded even at many sections of motorways . forget about GT road/ city urban roadways.

Again all active safety systems which rely on the road markings will behave the same way regardless of brand or model. I have driven Honda Pilot and Honda Civic of my next door neighbor and have experienced ZERO alert when the road markings are fade on some of our town roads. And my own VW's also behave the same way and nothing different. yes highways are very well marked and the system clearly work without any false alarms.

Overall these features have a lot of positives and do help in crash mitigation. Well, pedestrian detection [ very common on our roads ] with abrupt braking especially when people are tailgating you, can be dangerous BUT that is what system is designed for, we cant blame a system. The utility of system in our environment with traffic, road markings and pedestrian is something a point of discussion BUT it should not stop new features in our cars..

all cars will have these features in next 2 years. we can always switch them off. the world is not shalmi chowk all the time. first people asked for air bags, they gave it. then parking sensors, they gave it. ABS with VSC; we all applauded, then cruise they gave it. now adpative cruise and collision mitigation....and we are complaining.

the world is moving forward; its 5g connected autonomous. and you are not controllign your peddal and giving a zero thought on pedestrian or road safety just because you cannot digest a hard braking which was actually required at first place. yes, if that is the approach, we are all dissappointed.

By the way active safety features are not mandated anywhere in the world. They dont even reduce your insurance premiums. Yes it helps in mitigating and reducing the collisions but as of now there is no official mandate by any government. Most car companies overseas now provide these features as standard.

I remember back in 2015 when Civic X arrived in US, Honda sensing was at an additional cost of $1000. later on it became standard feature when Toyota started offering Toyota safety sense a standard feature on its models.

ABS, front , side, curtain, VSC are something should be standard features on PKDM.

Its funny that Atlas or for that matter any other company shares benefit of a safety system but then dont offer same or other main requirements in their other model. Like Indus talks about benefits of VSC in Grande but then dont offer it in rest of Corolla lineup. Atlas talks about the benefits of upcoming Honda sensing but then dont offer the basic more important VSC in their City or BRV. forget about curtain airbags.

Basically, I see importance of mandatory safety features more than anything and we miss those in most of our PKDM vehicles. It should be standard equipment regardless of trim level. VSC/CURTAIN/SIDE/FRONT airbags,/ ABS .

Who are "we"? You are the only one who doesn't seem to be able to understand that people have different opinions. Not every new technology is perfect for all world conditions. You keep bringing up other safety features into the discussion, why? No body is discussing issues with parking sensors airbags etc. We are only trying to debate the cons of city brake assist but you are talking about 5G technology, come on man.

Just simply say you love the technology and move on. You don't have to agree with anyone. Let others debate amongst themselves or try to keep it civilized if you want to contribute to the matter at hand.

Exactly the point. The utility of the system (CTBA) is being discussed. I have driven honda sensing cars extensively in north America and never found them to be problematic. But everytime I've driven JDM Honda Sensing cars in Pakistan I've always experienced road anxiety in bumper to bumper traffic with bikes and rickshaws constantly weaving infront of the car at close range. The car repeatedly either slams the brakes or refuses to move at all with throttle inputs. I don't know how honda sets up the radar on different vehicles but some are way more aggressive than others. For instance on the Honda vezel it is far too aggressive and sensitive while on certain 660CC JDM Hondas it is mild and easier to live with.

I have never driven or owned a JDM with Honda sensing in Pakistan but many of my friends and relative owns vehicles with these systems including few who owns MG HS with MG Pilot. Almost everyone have deactivated the pedestrian detection system because of traffic and pedestrian issues on our roads, no line and lane discipline.

Again the issue is not the system, it is the environment in which the system is asked to operate . These systems and features are designed to work under certain paraments.

my mira 2018 detection system was way too basic. but it always beeped when i was looking at my mobile while approaching a vehicle. atleast 3-4 times it has hard braked as well. i upgraded that to yaris and still miss these features. the beeper was really good specially in jams as you have an extra sense to gauge the tailing distance.

i dont understand why braking would become an issue on roads and highways where we are 50 km +. even inside DHA islamabad where there are so many service roads there are small accidents all the time specially when lanes cross a street. all these accidents can be mitigated using the honda sensing. yes, we can switch it off in downtowns.

Already discussed these things but lets go over it again. Honda overseas offer Honda proprietary head-unit with their own software. Like Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, USDM gets Honda own system and software. Two sizes are available. The basic 7" unit or the 9" which is offered on top variant like USDM Touring or RS in Thailand. The systems are apple and google certified and comes with licensed apple carplay and android auto

So, what you guys think, are we getting 7" or 9" in PKDM Civic ?

Also I think we might be getting locally supplied head-unit unlike Honda own system with Honda own software overseas. Unfortunately local systems are laggy and not fully functional apple car play and android auto / because not a license systems.

I would take a smaller but proper headunit over crappy local units any day of the week. Please Atlas if youre reading this dont skimp out on the headunit.

I cant find the part number now but I checked few weeks ago, on USDM, the 9" genuine Civic unit is like $1100/- for just the unit with navigation if bought as replacement part. Obviously it will cost less to Honda US for assembly line. Stand alone parts are not cheap.

Yes, there is no aftermarket units as replacement for the floating units from branded / Alpine, Pioneer , Sony or others. There might be something from China as replacement head-units in-place of stock units

Easy aftermarket replacement like the conventional single Din or double din head-units for in dash replacement is NO MORE the case with these floating displays.

Dual Zone climate control is standard on 1.5T on USDM. Dual zone is only on RS in Thailand/ Indonesia/ Malaysia. If we follow Civic X, PKDM never came with dual zone although it was available overseas.

Like you said, the Chinese have made replacement floating head units. Many Alsvin owners have replaced their units with them.
