No point in using Liqui Moly unless you want to burn extra cash. The 0W-20 available at Honda 3S is more than enough for 1.5 Turbo. No problems whatsoever. Just go with the 0W-20 available at dealerships.

Use any oil you wish. I have used this 0w-20 from honda in my city and didn’t like it.its fine for grocery getting commutes but dilutes and looses its property fast which is more prevalent in gdi engines

I think the local Honda oil is by “Idemitsu” which is very well reputed and would definitely meet the intl. standards however not sure but heard from a friend who used to be in this business that local laws permit for the base oil to be a recycled one so what impact it actually has on the end product can’t be said.

Personally, I think the Valvoline sold at Aramco fuel stations is also a very good alternative (Made in the UAE).

Why would you put 0W-20 in a Honda City? As far as I know, Honda recommends 5W-30 for City. City is not a GDi engine either. Dilution can be measured if your dipstick shows more quantity of oil than put in during oil change. If you put thinner oil in an engine it isn't recommended for than that's the culprit.

The newer city has 0w-20 recommended in its owner manual but you may be right that l15z8 engine may be better suited for 5w-30

That's totally normal. No need to worry. i have kept civic turbos for 3 years and these are v v robust products. Turbo engines do generate lot of heat but its well within the design specs.

I have observed the same thing in my oriel, 2500km driven, radiator fans remain on for longer periods and a lot of heat is generated. Discussed this at 3s on my first inspection and they had no clue, just told me that fan turns on automatically so there is nothing to worry about. My concern is that why it keeps running for longer periods like 15-20 minutes and at that time as just switch off the car

Just switch off car normally. For any turbo, the best practice is keep car idle for 30-40 seconds before turning off. Fan start/ stop should not even be a consideration

civics engine bay design is not very air ventilation friendly its very tight due to which less area for hot air to ventilate outwards making the engine hotter and raising the engine bay temp.. even in civicx the fan turns on more frequently as compared to a grande both have 1.8 engines ..while for turbo engines it is agreed that they produce more heat however the engine bays tight less area for heat to vent out increases the overall temps making the engine cooling fan run more frequently even in shorter trips.. you can compare with another turbo engine car like mg hs or Peugeot and see if you feel the same phenomenon in that as well if not then this is the main reason as to why the engine is operating hotter in your civic.

Civic's engine bay is not compromised in terms of space by any means. Open the bonnet of 11th Gen or even 10th Gen and you will see tons of space. Civic 8th Gen is a car that had a tight space.

Thanks a lot. Also, in your opinion should i get the oil changed from honda or get liqui moly instead?

If you do not want/value your car's warranty AND have extra cash that you want to part ways with then go ahead with Liqui Moly. There is practically nothing that you are losing by going with 3S provided GF6 0W-20. I would rate it over and above Liqui Moly that's available in the market.

The oem is excellent. no need to waste money on Amsoil.
