I think Sportage will continue to be a competitor to the Civic esp if model is updated.
While some people will prefer the driving dynamics of the civic and Honda Sensing features, others might be turned off by turbo-only engines and perceived lower segment as compared to cross-overs.
Also Sportage if updated will come with its own set of new features and new shape etc.

Also IMO Sonata will also be a threat esp if Civic gets too close to 6m.

On a lighter note guys please don’t encourage them too much by posting these high estimates . According to @fazalwahab11375 company folk often read these threads.

Im sure the hundreds and thousands of Civics on the road with its 2 decade old 1.8L engine and a CVT transmission were sold for its 'sporty' nature. Nobody buys a Civic for sporty anything. These are family cars in Pakistan. Single dudes looking for sportiness would probably opt for a Mark X or a used Accord.

By that measure of yours, neither Mark X nor Accord are sporty either they both are family sedans as well.

The comparison is between a Civic and Sportage purely from driving dynamics and drive standpoint, which is something that only car enthusiasts will look for.

Malaysian launch of civic xi...Proton x70 is around rm 124k ~4.9 mill pkrCivi xi base is at that price so those guessing it around 5-5.5 are probably right

X70 is priced between 94,800-122,800 ringgit (39-51 lac) in Malaysia.
It is now an accepted fact that the new Civic is overpriced in all markets except North America because of Honda's decision to offer 1.5 turbo only.

By the way the Malaysian top of the line varaint RS is missing the full digital 10.2" digital cluster as seen on Thai RS , Indonesian RS or USDM Touring. Malaysia RS is offered with basic 7" TFT display with analogue gauge.

Additionally, Malaysian RS is also with single zone climate control. Thai Indonesia gets dual on RS only while USDM get dual on Turbo as standard.

Lastly as discussed earlier, No sunroof in any of varaint in Thai, Indonesia, Malaysia. Sunroof is standard on USDM Turbo. 12 speaker + subwoofer premium Bose audio is also only on USDM and Touring exclusive.

The driving position is subjective to everyone and I love being low instead of sitting high. About the driving pleasure also it might be subjective but I shared my opinion and that too when Allhamdolillah I own both of them parallel and drive them alternatively which is when you can make a perfect comparison. Constantly driving any one would make a person accustomed to that particular car

End of May or June is when the deliveries will start as far as I know. That’s when the cars will be ready for delivery after first batch of production so I doubt pulling strings can fetch you an early delivery of a car which isn’t produced in the first place. Again this is what I have heard and I could be wrong

Pricing in the range of crossover will definitely dent the sedans sales but dont think they have the margin of pricing it lower.

Same reason why we may not even see the 12 th gen corolla sedan in pakistan. Peugeots cuv is coming soon and changans cuv is not far from being launched , civic will find itself in hot water.

I kind of agree as just I heard that only around 300 cars are available now and most of them are covering Jan and Max Feb deliveries for those with complete payment. Honda needs to officially announce but they wont till they clear the stock. I hope it gets announced soon

Peugeot is round the corner , pakistan is a small market and very little room for both sedans and cuv to do well together in the same price bracket.
