Well, there was an ongoing discussion in this thread about this camouflaged Civic. Most of us believe this is a CBU but still few think it is CKD.
The one indication about it being CBU was the color of the camo Civic matches with the color reported on the import documents of the single demo unit imported by Atlas.
Anyway, I was little confused by these black tape on each window on the test vehicle. watched few videos from Thailand and Indonesia and found out that there is some marking on the glass which is typical . It looks like this marking might reveal the birth place of the camouflaged vehicle like maybe the factory code or Honda Thailand specific markings or any other info which might reveal the identity of the vehicle as CBU. BTW our PKDM vehicles normally use locally produced and supplied glass. The new entrants are mostly using an import at this time but they will switch to local in near future.
I talked to someone who used to work with Honda and now works with KLM. I wanted to understand like what is normal timeline for local development for a product launch. In other words, Atlas might not be yet ready for any CKD at this time but to keep public attracted to brand and for social media attraction , they keep on driving this camo unit on the road. This is also done to stop consumers from going towards any other brand / model and keep them in limbo although the model might be still much away from showroom floors. Personally I dont know what testing is being conducted and any scientific data is collected by this single individual driving around this Civic.
lastly, as discussed and pointed out by many respectable members, I think official reveal will be somewhere near April. Few people think, it might be May while few think its March. Again this is just an info from here and there with no official confirmation. I hope Civic Xi arrives at the earliest.
