No, it's not 'my' logic, it's a fact. Accord came in 2018, Civic 11th gen came in 2021.

How is Sonata more "luxurious"

• Higher quality built and interior. Like the difference between an Alto and a Civic, that's the difference in quality between a Civic and Sonata.

• Plush leather seats that don't make you want to visit a chiropractor after a 4-5 hour drive.

• Dual Zone Climate control.

• Built in wireless charger. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

• Electric seats with lumbar support

• Auto headlights and wipers (I think)

• Parking Sensors

• Better cabin insulation

• Panoramic sunroof

• Factory fitted Pirelli tyres and 18 inch wheels

While Civic RS will supposedly be touching 6 mil? Not happening.

Their HRV/CRV will not do well.

I think both would do exceptionally well if offered at sane prices. There's no question that a large majority of buyers would prefer a CRV over a Sportage if factors like price, features aren't too different.

It's not my obsession because I didn't even mention 0-60 originally, you just assumed it! 0-60 is just one advantage but more importantly, a car with more powerful engine has better in gear acceleration, better merging power in traffic, better highway performance - all in all better overall power band that equates to better driving pleasure. Again you are just assuming that it's only 0-60 that matters. In a base 2.0 Sonata, you will have to rev the hell out of it to get anywhere even near the same performance.

Yes it is your logic when you make it look that it's only Honda whose Accord and Civic are out of sync. Same goes for Toyota, Nissan, Kia, Hyundai, ..... - you name it!

I don't understand why we Pakistanis like to blow things out of proportions straight up into outer space. Difference between Sonata and Civic's built quality is same as between Civic and Alto? Do you realize how stupid that analogy sounds?

Leather seats aren't a plus in our overly hot climate. Good to have (maybe!) but not a differentiator.

Top Spec RS can also:
- Come with Dual Zone Climate Control.
- If they go for official Honda Infotainment, then Wireless charger, Android Auto/CarPlay might be there too.
- It should also have Auto High Beam as that's part of Honda Sensing package.

Have you ever watched a review of local Sonata? Those "Pirelli" tyres on it are actually a nuisance due to their road noise.

Sonata here in PK for sure doesn't have anything even close to Honda Sensing. THAT's actually something which is a big plus from safety perspective. Panoramic Sunroof is a good to have feature, not a must have either.

Overall a top-spec RS is a better VOM than base 2.0 Sonata, and mind you: we don't know the OTR price of top spec RS yet but we can safely assume it will be substantially less than a base 2.0 Sonata.

Also, I have watched and read almost every review, road test, comparison of 11th gen Civic that’s out there and almost every reviewer is praising how Honda has moved Civic 11th gen up market to the point where some reviewers are questioning current Accord 1.5T, and saying Honda will now have to move Accord up market because of how good 11th gen is from every metric.

Wait for Atlas, they will screw this again.

Agreed to value to money and quality point but there are a lot more squeaks in grande. I have a 2020 model grande and 2017 model civic and to be honest after one year of use grande started to squeak and rattle while civic is still soundless. I wonder how a 2020 “maintained” civic is making more noise than a 200k+ driven rental corollas

Atlas can (and probably will) screw build quality, at least in initial batches.

But driving dynamics of the car won't change because, none of the suspension, steering, transmission and engine are local.

To everyone arguing over acceleration, driving dynamics and handling of a car, never in the history of our market has a car been sold in high volume because of its power and handling. These are very secondary things for a common pakistani looking for a vehicle. Remember xli/gli with tiny 1.3lt engine used to be best sellers at one time. Sportage has a similar formula hence the highest seller in crossovers. When it comes to sonata vs civic 1.5t, apart from a handful of people, almost everyone will opt for Sonata, be it the 2.0 version. Indeed good acceleration is fun and adds to overall driving pleasure, but a waddi Sonata with fancy looks will always win the hearts of people. Doesn't matter how sluggish.

Heck, people buy 2 crore prados with the anemic 2.7L engine and no one bats an eye. These are very first-world things for Pakistan.

Those tyres are mud and snow terrain. Extremely noisy and hard. I'm sure Nishat picked up a cheap lot from Pirelli and put them on the Sonata lol.

This right here, very well said. There is a difference between personal preference and market behavior. I would personally pick a Fiat 500 Abarth over a Prado TX eyes closed (even if they were the same price in Pakistan). But I completely understand why people go for vehicles such as Sportage, HS, Prado TX etc.

To be fair yeah this was the only civic X I've been in with such rattles. And our company's brand new grande had an annoying rattle from day 1. But the one consistent thing in every single civic X I've been in is the horrible quality of the plastics. Every single one of its competitors has got a better quality interior.

It was true for that car at least. Those rattles forced me to use headphones for the whole 4hr motorway trip. Haven't seen that issue with other civics though. But atlas does have very inconsistent quality. Every car seems to have different issues. There are 3 cities in my family produced within months of each other. Every single one is completely different to drive. So I assume that 20 model guy got a real dud from atlas.

Lol so the conspiracy theory of atlas using Suzuki plastics is actually kinda true. Pretty embarrassing. I personally have more experience with cities. One thing I've always noticed is that pre 2016 cities have a better quality interior and less rattles than the 16 and above ones. I was recently in a 15 model city which seemed to have a much better quality interior and 0 rattles compared to the multiple 17 and 18 models in my family. It even seemed a lot newer than them. And every single city in my family is pretty well maintained.
