I have some close relative who works for BASF and representing in Pakistan. Before Civic X, Atlas used to buy resins for injection molding , some products from BASF and some from another Eureopean brand.

For Civic X they shifted to different products/ raw materials and basically some Chinese brand. Chinese brand does not mean, poor low quality BUT what Atlas selected was like a marginal brand. The same supplier also provide raw to Pak-Suzuki.

The raw material plays very important role in molding plastic parts like door panels, interior plastic trims like shelf behind rear seat, trunk , trims along A , B and C pillars and most importantly the dash boards.

I am sure you guys will agree that quality, fit and finish as well as the texture and feel by touch for platics on 9th generation and even 8th generation was way way better. Even today if you compare used models from previous generations, you guys will see the difference, how well they are crafted and they look completely different even to a layman just by look and touch.

Lastly, Atlas do lot of injection molding work on their own. They created their own companies who supplies them these items.

Again this is the information I have when Civic X was launched in 2016 and we experienced very low quality of plastics. I am not sure what are suppliers today and I dont know if Atlas will switch to better supplier for Civic XI.

Yeah well, my X oriel 2018 is 40k driven with absolutely no squeeks at all. Infact after changing to UC6 the car is now in a different league altogether.

Su baat khatam hute hay sportage per. By the way nishat lost the sweet spot of sales for tucson. Now they have missed the bus already. The model is already old with no sensing or other features. Its done and not poised for any exaggerated sales.

Agreed. Only good option is sportage. Chinese ones are crap . People can disagree but big no from anyone like me who absolutely hates Chinese products.

chinese are fast improving but the rule of thumb remains that one should not buy a ckd unless you can afford it twice.

MG could've been a good choice for users like me but the fuel average of a Prado 2.7 and requirement of high octane like a sports car just doesn't cut it. Sportage is the only sane option left but price increase to 57.88 is a bit too much now. X70 is a great product but Al-Hajj is destroying it with their delivery timings and a recent rumour of a 500k price increase.

its a predicament that after so much initial advantage of automobile policy, these companies scumed under dollar escalation and inflation. all these launches could not be converted into assemblies. the real buying choice left for a crossover is only and only sportage which frankly is just a new corolla. too bland.

Sonata competes with Accord. Elantra competes with Civic. I don't know on what basis are you comparing a Sonata with a Civic. A turbo charged engine isn't the only deciding factor when buying a car.

most of civic buyers are lured into accord and vice versa too. i think he is just talking about 6.0 ish range. if you have 5.5 million and have the option of D segment then most users can lease it too for another 10-15 lac.

What i think is that we deserved a PKDM honda accord or Kia K5. Excludign PKDM camry here because they have fortuner in that price mark. Kia launched sorento which didnt work well and they are making things worst for themselves and buyers with SSSSSSTTTTOOOOOONNNNICCCC.

You think I don’t know what a D segment and C segment car is?

The Sonatas we are getting here in PK are stripped down versions. Just to give an example: they don’t even have proper adaptive cruise control with Lane Assists, let alone full suite of safety tech like Honda Sensing. For me that’s a BIG downside.

If a turbo charged engine isn't the only deciding factor when buying a car then neither should be catchy headlights and rims. FYI, a Sonata 2.0 is underpowered. Ask anyone who has driven Sonata 2.5. There’s nothing special about 2.5’s acceleration, and this is 2.0 that we are talking about.

Which is why from a practicality point of view, I said all Sonata has going for it is longer wheelbase especially if you compare Sonata 2.0.

Also, I have watched and read almost every review, road test, comparison of 11th gen Civic that’s out there and almost every reviewer is praising how Honda has moved Civic 11th gen up market to the point where some reviewers are questioning current Accord 1.5T, and saying Honda will now have to move Accord up market because of how good 11th gen is from every metric.

You keep bringing up acceleration, power and I keep telling you there's more to a car than just its 0-60. If power was the only deciding factor, Sportage would have been a failure in Pakistan. Sonata is a bigger, more comfortable, more luxurious car than a Civic and has a road presence that a Civic cannot match. Not to mention it's of significantly higher quality as well.

As for your Accord argument. Civic and Accord are out of sync when it comes to their generations. The latest accord was released in 2018, so it's design and features are similar to the 10th gen Civic. Wait for the next gen Accord.

The build quality on Sonata is definitely superior to the current gen Civic. It is roomier and more comfortable as well. In sports mode the throttle response and steering feel is pretty decent I'd say but nothing to get too excited about.

The pedal shifts are actually quite engaging on the Sonata because of the conventional auto gearbox. Flooring it while locked in high rpm/low gear is fun but after a few seconds you ask yourself WAIT, THAT'S IT? lol

If that's your logic, then every segment in every manufacturer's lineup is out of sync.

Sonata is bigger and that's the only fact. I said the same in my first post, i.e. it has longer wheelbase.

Like I said earlier, there's more to a car, than fancy lights and rims. But I guess that's how people like to equate a car to its "road presence" these days.

Again, you have 0 understanding of what you are saying. Because current Accord was released in 2018, doesn't mean its design and features are similar to 10the gen Civic. It's way ahead of 10th gen and 11th gen reduces that gap alot in terms of driving dynamics, spaciousness and overall feature set.

Off-topic but I'd like to point out that Honda USA has said that a new Accord should be expected this year.
