Xoofi, summarized but very well narrated thread. You slept for 30 hours.... I thought I had created a record of sleeping 20 hours at a stretch after returning from a similar trip:) I can understand reason for addition 10 hours...coz you were with the tour operator most of the time. while this has many advantages but overall a person is running like a jet with the itinerary. thx for sharing.

It's true that most of the travel was touch and go for many places but you learn something with every experience. I'd also like to add that in such a large group, its very possible to get delayed by several hours because its not an easy task to handle. Even a small photo breaks can take up to an hour and not to forget the breakfast/dinner preparation, it takes too much time also.

Also, not everyone obey the wake up time, leaving time, stopover time allotted by group leader. This all adds up resulting in touch and go to many places and not getting the proper time to explore.

can you share any info or numbers regarding the private car service that you used between Gilgit and Rawalpindi.....

The private car charge 16500 Rs total. Front seat 4500, 3 back seats 4000 each. Thats the fixed rate of the company run by Toqir bhai. However, he had no car available on that day when I went to his office (All were booked and gone becoz he has the best rates in Gilgit), so he arranged it with some other car service for Rs. 5000 for the back seat (it was kind of last minute rip off).

Dharamsar, Sambaksar lakes were skipped because of Babusar Pass not opened. Minimarg was missed because of permission issues. To compensate these, Hushe was added and it was a great addition

Thank you @kashif for wonderful reply. You are right about the strangers part because not everyone in such large group is like minded. But Thanks to Almighty that everything was done without any major problem.

Bike ride on KKH was my dream and it came true (partial). Now next target is to do this all the way from Islamabad to Khunjerab
