After sitting idle and gathering dust for several weeks..rains, mechanics personal time away, Eid and what not, work finally started on refurbishing the mechanicals the way I wanted them to be. Its amazing what Absolut motivation can do in terms of quality and output.
We worked late into the night but removed all the steering parts and replaced the tie-rod ends, sanding and painting the rods, greasing the beam and link / king pin set-up before moving to the rear.
The transmission has been re-installed even though we would have to revisit it later as the area in the nose cone, where the mount is attached was cracked. For now a single bolt is holding the nose end supported by a bolt and a washer. The new nose cone has been ordered and will arrive on Monday. I am not too concerned as its going to be a while before the car is driven on the road.
For now i am just happy that the chassis is back on its own 'feet'. The next task is to take the pedal assembly apart, clean and paint the pedals, lubricate every part and re-instal. The challenge is to re-thread the new clutch cable which is being difficult for no reason. The new accelerator cable and choke cable have already been installed.
I forgot the camera at the workshop last night so you'll have to wait for the pictures until later this evening.
