OK...I've come to the conclusion ke ghar ki murghi waqai daal barabar hoti hai.

All this talk of Challengers and Firebirds and 'Cudas and other exotics had started to make me somewhat unappreciative of the Six Foe. Today, I went to F-11 where the car is parked, and had a long critical look at the beast. This vehicle has it all, and I appear to have been momentarily blinded to its qualities. Pedigree. Looks. Completeness. In addition, it's set to get a monster engine and 'monster'er wheels, as well as a complete aesthetic makeover, Insha Allah. And when it's done, it should be an absolute stunner, God willing. And the best thing of all...no searching, no seeking, no uncertainty.

Moral of the story: a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

After the momentary mental distractions, it's time to get on with making this beast!

Nice going on the project. Love the motor. Given the options, i'll suggest to go for c but a bird in hand is better than two in the bush. Complete this project and then move on to other.
Well today i saw this car while getting my car's work done in G7. Can you tell the make and model of it.

LOL When I asked around about the owner of the car. I met owner's friend. I asked him that is your friend restoring the car or just want to get rid of it? He said he is very shokeen banda. He have '74 mercedes running on CNG and intend to run this car on it too. I wonder what kind of shokeen does that

You know, in Pakistan we often have to make compromises with what we WANT and what we HAVE, in terms of availability, and accessibility.

Every kid (whether adult or juvenile) wants an Eleanor (the car from Gone in 60 Seconds), and since not everyone CAN have Eleanor we see a lot of attempts at re-creating her. You'll find Eleanor lookalikes made from Corollas or Mark IIs or 929s, and the like. We'll find people who spend enormous amounts of cash on ricing up their cars, adding performance upgrades, cutting-slashing-chopping-lobbing off body parts, all in order to make that elusive "perfect ride".

In that way, the owner of a battered Suzuki FX with nothing added but a free-flow exhaust is NOT less of a shokeen than the owner of a Rolls Royce Phantom. He may actually be MORE of a shokeen than him; but with less accessibility to parts and funds and upgrades.

I'm sure this owner has also spent good money on the balaatkar that we see in the photos. I think we can question his good taste...but certainly not his enthusiasm!

The cuda being talked abt here was acquired by some one a few months back for a hefty sum...

The car is soo far gone that the new owner is now clueless abt what to do and how to go abt doing it...

Lets just stick to the six foe and if possible, keep the belair for a later stage boss... Btw is the 56' belair a 2 door or a 4 door??

The 'Cuda is somewhere in Satellite Town, apparently. With a diesel engine. And he's asking for a pretty hefty sum of money. That's all I know, personally speaking.

Perhaps Yaser could enlighten us more.

The Six Foe is ready and waiting to be rebirthed, Hassan. And the Bel Air is in Karachi, waiting to be transported to Islamabad, Insha Allah.

For now, the Bel Air is a four-door sedan. Whether or not it remains that way, is still to be seen!

Have finally made the payment for the '56 Bel Air, and taken possession of its papers. The vehicle should be joining us within a week, Insha Allah

I really don't know who's more excited at the prospect...Shayaan, or I! Of course, this opens up a whole new Pandora's box of possibilities. It actually makes me wonder whether an LS1-powered, fire-breathing Six Foe would be a better option, or an LS1-powered, fire-breathing Bel Air. To the best of my knowledge, this would probably be the only high-performance Bel Air...since most others have been lovingly restored to stock or near-stock by their respective owners. Then again, I really don't know of any high-performance Impalas, either.

All of this is a delicious conundrum...that is really quite appealing. The Six Foe is a sleek, long, low beast...which has a beautiful, predatory stance. On the other hand, if the Impala is a raptor, the Bel Air is more of a bull...and within its macho, butch lines, lies its intrinsic appeal. BOTH vehicles are going to be resto-modded, regardless...since they're already lacking matching-numbers engines and transmissions. And with the high-performance power pack on its way...BOTH cars have the potential to be very, VERY fast indeed.

So, gents...with regards to fitting the LS1 motor...

Six Foe or Bel Air?

Candid advice would be much appreciated.

I think the Bel Air would be much more suited with the LS1...

Those round body lines would just be too damn sexy moving down the road with soo much grunt...

p.s. the spinners on the other hand should not go on the Bel Air... a 3UZ and and spinners for the low riding six foe...

And once again (like the thread that involved the rebuilds of the '65 and '67 Impalas, running parallel to one another)...this thread, too, has all the chances of becoming a jumbled maze of updates on the Six Foe and the Bel Air, concurrently.

I really should separate the two, quickly.

Just send me a list of what you need, I will be going to Plaza some time next week to get a few tidbits so I can check at Perfect Motors for what ever you need.
He's more likely to have mechanical components as opposed to trim but will check irrespective.
