To be completely honest though, when I was contemplating the Phantom rebuild, a well-wisher advised me to do something similar, ie, get a "non custom paid" Series 80 from Balochistan, drive it to Pindi, strip it of required parts, and sell the rest off to local kabaariyas. Personally, that's something that I wouldn't do. Not because I'm very morally upright, or wish to APPEAR to be so...but for the simple reason that I'd much rather pay for stuff in Pindi, whilst remaining within the confines of the law. The guy I purchase my engines and spares from, imports these items from the UAE. Presumably, after paying all the required duties / taxes.
I sleep easier at night, knowing that I'm NOT going to be hauled up by some cop, for my engine number matching that, of a stolen vehicle in Panjgur or Khuzdar!
