About the "Chevy In A Chevy" decision...
I'm very seriously thinking about rebuilding the '67 in the "old school" way. Once it's up and running, Insha Allah, I was thinking about getting the Gasket Kit, Rings Set, Big End Pieces and other stuff necessary for an engine rebuild, and taking it to Kharian. Once there, I'll disassemble the engine completely, down to the last nut and bolt, during an in-camera session (so I remember which part fits where!). Once everything's disassembled, I'll prep various parts of the engine for high-heat paint treatment. Degreasing, buffing, scrubbing, scouring, washing, sand-blasting, heat-curing etc (as the individual part would merit). During research online, I've stumbled across some wonderful products (like engine paint, and liquid chrome) that have the potential to make the engine a very pretty sight, indeed. Where those products can be used, they will be. For other larger parts, I'll get them chrome plated or powder coated or anodised as the individual case may be. Bolts will be colour-coded (cadmium plated and/or nickel plated as applicable), plug wires will be colour-coordinated, and other tiny little aesthetic touches to the powerplant will follow.
During this time, the engine compartment will undergo some TLC so as to get it nicely prepared for the eventual engine re-mounting. Some rust treatment, some primer, and a couple of coats of matte black paint, and it should be good to go for the stuff to follow.
After everything is done to absolute perfection (or as near to it as is possible), I'll get Imran Ustaad to Kharian, and have him reassemble the engine again, making sure that everything is working perfectly. This would basically imply that the vehicle would be mechanically ready, and that the coachwork, interior, and ergonomics can follow, at a leisurely pace.
It should be an interesting experience to say the least!
