The vehicle continues to crawl its way to completion.
Among the immensely satisfying things we've achieved thus far is the stance of the vehicle. Enthusiasts will know that the '65 through '70 Impalas (4th Generation) all shared the same B Type body. But comparing my '65 to my '67 is like comparing two totally different vehicles. The '65 is long, low, and sleek...while the '67 appears much more sturdy, muscular and aggressive. While it's been lowered as far as the 20 inch wheels will safely allow, it seems to sit higher, and has a stance that is much more reminiscent of the muscle cars of yore.
I'm very pleased with the paint job. The paint has been baked on, and is a beautiful, glistening "wet-look" black, with a great reflection. The body work has turned out to superb, and reflects hours and hours of elbow-numbing hard work by Jojo (the denter) and Mukhtar (the painter). The chrome fittings are stunning, and we've actually added some non-stock pieces of chrome trim that are looking absolutely incredible. These are a surprise, that'll be revealed when the vehicle is finished, Insha Allah.
The interior is going to be an all-leather affair, in ivory and black. The seats are going to be two-toned, as are the doors. The carpet will be ivory, and black carpet mats are going to overlay those. The roof will be ivory, as well. Finally, the dashboard will also be done up in two-tone leather.
More updates with pictures will follow, Allah be willing!
