1.. First you need to decide on how wide you need the wheel..there's two types of banded wheels one is banded on the inside for wider tyres for performance ..second is image...to make the rim look wider..

There's a lot work gone into the look of the beetle in the pic..
1.. The front beam has been set up Mach the front wings..
2.. The rear are cambered ..to tuck into the arches..

The wheels in the pic are banded... You 2 sets off wheels ...cut the band out ..and weld them into your set.. It's not easy bro..I've done couple of sets my self.. And seen lots of friends do it.. It's doesn't always turn out the way it should... Wobbly wheels bro..not a good look..lol

I have seen a shop do that here in the US - it requires a precision lathe and welder like the unit that welds torque converters. But it was a very hectic job getting it to spin true and balanced dynamically.

Bro the reason I'm discussing the look...that's what it's all about..every set off baned wheel are individual.. Made to how the owner wants them.. You need to think carefully how wide you want them..what's stants you want the car to have..I can explain the proses in one go..it's to discuss it..one proses at a time ...

This is my way by trial and error..
2.. You need to purchase a second set off wheel the same..and have the bands cut out on a lave...or you get someone to make you the bands to your size... This is much more technical.. Way to do it..
3.. Then cut your rims IN half and weld in the band..
4.. once the welding is don they need to be put back on lave..and be cut and balanced ..

You measure from the inner wing to the arch.. The best way make the wheels first and have body adjusted to fit..in that that clearance will be in mm ..

Time and again we've read and talked about metal loosing its strength when torched for stripping paint. A rather safer way to do it is paint remover. And a safest way still is to sand blast the metal. Its costly yes, but it ensure that metal stays as strenghful as it was before the paint was removed, not to mention the great advantage of stripping paint from every nook and corner where the human hand cant reach without further deteriorating the metal where it's rusted.

I have always been looking for stripping Patina's body off all the installations and sending it for sand blasting. But Multan doesn't provide a facility where this task is completed amicably. There are sand blasters but they've no experience with automobiles. So it looks like Patina is going to Lahore for sand blasting.

Its going to be costly yes, but its the "correct" way to start building the base for the right kind of finish.

paint stripper is safer. Sand blasting can do some serious damage. Try soda blasting instead.
