:) No I did not miss the battery clip, it was just that I was taking one things at a time. Ive seen intact battery clips before, although that too is very very rare. The tar boards were an oddity, I think Ive seen it once or twice before only.
The floor mats are great too. Not seen on very many cars here. This bug has been in the hands of someone who has not allowed too many people to touch (though sadly even for cleaning!) the car. Thats why it retains so many of its original bits. The idiotic mechanics here lose no time in chucking out whatever they think doesnt have a purpose (how I loathe them!! Grrrrr :-! )
However, not nit picking in any way, I dont think the rear seat upholstery is original. Had it been, it would have had parallel stitching on the back and butt rests. The door panels are original definitely, the plastic sheets were a good addition to save them from the elements.
The underseat generator cut out is probably not genuine. I dont think that company supplied VW. Plus, it looks too new by the condition.
