At the local kabarias in Karachi, genuine hardware is hard to get. The body bolts are never taken off, as the cars are scrapped using chisels and hammers :'(
Some time back, I asked the scrapper to get the original body mount bolts off a 67 ( a very clean car, Parsi owned......I shouted till hoarse for a rescue but no one came forward in time)......I paid extra :-$ to the guy who actually cuts the cars and he salvaged quite a few clean bolts and washers.
On my last trip I looked for engine hardware for the 68 engine we are currently rebuilding but came up with few bits and for those too the guy was charging like hell. Each batch of around 10 to 12 random nuts a hundred rupees. More for the bolts.
Coming to the core of this discussion, there are a few areas where the original bolts are crucial. Topping this list are the Pressure Plate mounting bolts, six in all. You need the 'Kamax 8G' ones here.
