Just got off the phone with Arshad @ Lahore. He wanted me to convey his salam & well wishes to you.

We have been talking about servicing/conversions of all the Dynamos/SWF Wiper Motors in my stash - three 12V, one 06V (reserved for @mohsinikram - service only/no conversion of this one) Dynamo and two SWF 06V Wipers Motors.

He is having his AC Servicing Season so he says he can always service the Dynamos anytime but for SWF Wiper Motors conversions to 12V from 6V he would be needing time as the armatures would need to be winded for which he currently can not manage time right now.

I assured him that we have all the time in the world to do the conversions so we tied up that I would give him a call in person whenever I go to Lahore. I would make sure that I get the servicing and the conversions done by Arshad himself by staying there with him while he does the job for us.

Lets drop the 12V Electrical Conversion Kit from the wish list.

Thank you. Arshad is your man...Its your job to catch him and pester him to do the work himself. While there, do ask for a cup of 'GL chai'.

GL chai is special tea served in Arshad's own crockery (as opposed to the tea shops cups) made fresh from scratch and with a layer or 'malai' (cream) covering the entire surface of the tea. Oh and you get to decide how much sugar you want.

If all the willing members of VWCOP are willing to travel to NorthAmerica we can find everyone a vehicle in this price range (even cheaper) and then take a caravan of beetles back. I guess even if the cars are confiscated at customs in Pakistan we can still get them cheaper when they are auctioned off.
Can ANYONE find out from their cousins / neighbour / uncle / distant relative who has any knowledge of customs how we can legally get a VW of this vintage (say an early 60's) into Pakistan?
