For now I just have the picture of the Brake Switch/Master Cylinder. Will make sure that I take pictures of the OP Switch and Reverse/Back up light switch and share with you. But Patina doesn't have OT switch mounted on her so I wont be able to share a picture of the OT Switch.

Replacing he brake switch would probably be the easy bit but be prepared to bleed the brakes after are done.

Thanx , It would certainly help if you could show me the place on the tranny where the reverse light switch is located. Now I will first check if all my switches are working. I think the last owner during the redone has disconnected the wires by the electrician said that they were fried. I hope i can revive them.

About bleeding brakes, you see the brake lines are literally air free and the only thing that is supposed to run through the brakes is the brake fluid. When you change master cylinder/brake switch/brake lines/brake warshers on the brake cylinders, the air creeps inside the brake lines and when you assemble back everything you have had previously worked on (from the above list) and press brakes, the air that has entered the brake system compresses with the compression of the brake pedal and not the brake fluid which actually should be compressed to work the hydraulics when the brake pedal is pressed. To de-air or remove the air from the brakes system is called "bleeding brakes". This is accomplished by using small "bleeding nipples" located on all four wheels just beside where the brake line enters the wheels brake cylinders. And it look something like this:

P.S: All said, but it is HIGHLY recommended that if you haven't done it yourself ever before, try and get it done by a professional.

to correctly align your car - you need to find someone who can align older model mercedes benz cars.

There is a place here in hstn that aligns VW bugs - he uses a spreader bar on the wheels and also locks the steering gearbox with a special bolt. The spreader bar is also used to align old mercedes like mine - and mimics the wheel position as if the car is moving down the road.

What is the best rust converter/preventer one can use? I have tried a local (although written made in Germany) rust converter but of no use.. I remember once Mohsin bhai recommended some acid for treating the rust.. not sure...

I am not sure about the convertor though I am certain about the preventor, which is POR-15.

@mohsinikram had suggested the phosphoric acid based rust conversion.

However he used a product called HAMRIT. Here is what the product says on its packing:

The guys who sold this product claimed it was imported but packed locally. It is the same product that was used by @mohsinikram on his Split Window Beetle. I hope its not the one you are talking about too when you said you used a local product that had written "made in Germany" on it. If its the same let me know. I might be able to help you find another brand name which is told to have rendered better results and is available in KHI too, or simply ask @AsadIshaque for the brand name of rust convertor he used on his 1959 RT shell (its the same that I am referring to as second option).

POR-15 is a great product as i have read very good reviews about it. is it available in Pakistan?
