Im digging the Patina thing but the nail for cotter pin is making it "ratty". Btw the best way to remove rivets is bench drill. One push and you are done.

Lucky you, but then one ought to have it, especially when one is stationed 700kms away from Mumtaz and thus doesn't enjoy the luxury to borrow it from Mumtaz

I am doing this one time hassle to keep it with me for current as well as any future needs, be it mine or any of the VWCOP members'.

Could you possibly find out how much it'd cost to get 2 made? I'd be interested to have my own as well so isb/rwp members could do DIYs. I can't be bothered to have someone do something I should be doing myself. Really want to fit these clips too,...

This looks like a toyota starter relay, If the spade connectors are across each other then it is - and you should not use this relay for long duty purposes, Its coil is meant to pull in even with low voltage (starter duty) but for short durations.

Being a VW it is a crime to use jap electrics anyway :D, get a 40A bosch or siemens cube relay, it would also have its own mounting ear and you can buy a new connector for it too, then solder some nice new wires and spade connectors on them.

The cost to getting a rivet mandrel made is as follow:

Iron Piece - Rs.45/-
Machine man labour - Rs.200/-

Plus

Two litres of fuel, lots of patience with the machine guy & to have a taste of non-GL Chaey

I would be getting the machined mandrel by this afternoon, will be sharing the pictures then.

Its about time for the hubcap clips/rivets to go on the stock wheelies to do what they do best; hold stock doomed hubcaps in place!

HOLY SH*T!! that's really well made. if you go there again do let me know,.. i'd be HUGELY interested in one for the ISB members to share. cash is on standby (including sending over).
