best when working on german cars is to listen to some old german operas - or tunes from WW2 - "dach icht Berlin"..

have some sausage sandwich in some hard german bread, strudel with fresh cream, german brewed clear coffee, dust the tools, chuck charlie out of the cot, go bananas on the type 1.

Awww some euphoria you are talking about my friend that I can not live in here in Pakistan. I wish though if they played opera here on the AM frequencies, would have been some real fun.

I was waiting for in-line fuse to be sourced so that I could put the recently refurbished National Solid State AM Radio to test and tune into some soul soothing vintage radio hums. Today I managed sometime out and went to the electronics market and got the vintage radio new set of knobs as well as in-line single fuse holder/fuse so that I could tune into some solid tunes:

Lets do the unpacking and ride on this wave of surprise and joy that shall never end...Lets start with goodies that @nmshaikh brought me from my never ending wishlist...first of all the complete suspension bits, including complete car PU Suspension Bushings Kit from JCWhitney:

Somehow I cant stop wondering where the sway bar (helper rod) bushings are. If this is a complete kit, it ought to be there isn't it? But unfortunately they aren't there.

Sway Bar (Helper Rod) Bushings on Patina are worn out and need replacement and I thought a complete kit would have them too but it seems either there is a mistake at the JCWhitney's part or slim chances are that those are not included in the "complete" suspension bushings kit (that I can not imagine seriously)

I didn't check the contents but I would have imagined they'd be part of the package. My experience with JC Whitney has been less than satisfactory especially with the purchase of this kit. It took me months and umpteen e-mails back and forth to even locate the kit. JC Whitney sells stuff that is not even on their shelves and once the payment is in their bank account you are at the mercy of the actual manufacturer / supplier. Surely your money is not lost but its a headache following up your purchases.

My other query is about how to "clean" the magnesium casing of the carb. I have tried Kerosene Oil cleaning followed by Carb Cleaner to cleanse this part of "for parts" carb collected from @shahzebulhaq with no success. Initially it looked just dirty but after the cleaning efforts I realized that I might have to be sand blasted to return the glow on it...but then sand blasting on carb...I am not sure. May be walnut blasting then?
