Once all the wires were swapped to the NOS fuse box and it was time for it to go on the body slot before I could head further with the restoration of the stock wiring looms, I realized the locking tab that holds down the fuse box inside the body slot on the NOS fuse box was broken. Here, see the pointing arrows which clearly point out to the problem:

One side of the fuse box is held by this tab while the other (closer to steering column) side is equipped with a locking clip which holds down the fuse box to the body. With the locking tab broken, the problem was that the clip single handedly couldn't keep the fusebox in place. Here are more pictures showing the broken New fusebox:

At this point I revisited the pictures I had taken and posted here on page 86 of this fusebox to check if it had the tab when it was unpacked for the first time after reaching Multan, to eliminate any doubts if it broke during transportation (which was impossible b/w, because I carried the fuse box in my Jeans front pockets all the way to Multan on advice of @nmshaikh since he thought it could easily broke with other goodies). The file pictures revealed it was broke right from the start. Here are the pictures that have already been shared on page 86 (now an arrow pointing to highlight the broken tab):

Disappointed, but there was no way but forward from here, so the life goes on - we'll see how it can be held in place later.

i'm not sure if it's possible but could you use the old fuse box housing and the internals from the replacement that Nasir sourced for you?

alternatively you could get a bumper walla to plastic weld a tab in the original place which would hold the fuse box in place.

both are long shots but if either work you'll have just what you need.
