Trying to start a restore project on my Corolla.

Condition wise it’s in excellent condition with no rust holes (only surface rust) and paint is still all original with the exception of rare left panel which was repainted at some point. It started as a regular TE27 but I have all the parts convert it into an SR5. I will keep this one as stock as possible with the exception of what’s under the hood.

This is how it looked when I first got it years ago.

This is what I have in there right now

Decided not to go with 3sge beams in this one and have found a fully built 2TG 2.0
with twin sidedraft 44mm Mikuni PHH carbs

Battery has already been relocated to trunk to make room for bigger engine.
Whole car would be getting braces to support the 210 HP this engine will produce which is more then enough for this light of a car.
It has a SR5 differential right now and that’s what I'll be using for time being until I find AE86 LSD differential (very rare in this part of the world). Obviously brakes will be upgraded along with AE86 front suspension.

this car is underrated in Pakistan true
most of them are being abused as taxis
there is one taxi 72 ke20 which can be restored its not in that bad nick but owner dosen't sells it its working as a taxi
i have seen a swap some where and the guy had to change rear diff as well
it was 4A-GZE mated with T50 tranny

I am keeping cost a secret only because it really doesnt matter. but if you must know... I paid way too much for it because these engines were never offered here in states.

I am not sure if its underrated or just over looked because they are being used as taxis.<o:p></o:p></o:p>Most of these cars here are either with collectors or enthusiasts and are greatly appreciated because they (corolla) were/are the backbone of <st1:city><st1:place>Toyota</st1:place></st1:city> worldwide.

My car is TE27 because here it came with bigger engine. 2tc/t50

Got the motor in this morning and took some measurements... its going to
be a tight fit and it looks like very minimal cutting. Shifter is going to be pushed back some 6 inches.

I visit this forum just to see your cars and make belief that everything is still a-ok! It seems a while since you've posted though. I hope the project isn't scrapped. The sumps gonna give you grief with the crossmember, you;'ll probably have to resump her. C'mon with the progress already!
