1984 corolla poor average

Hi I have 1984 corolla london edition with engine swapped with 1600cc 4a engine and autogear box. The car is giving worst average of almost 9km on long at speed of 110km. Plus there is petrol smell in the car while driving. Can anyone suggest me how to improve average and stop the smell. I think the petrol is evaporating from somewhere but i cannot find any leaking spot. Can any one tell me how to overcome this problem

Your car is just 10 years younger then me, now I'm also nearing to death. So my suggestion is please go for new one

check injector leakage for petrol smell
