Insha Allah. Its a reasonably long time to finsh all things up if there are no major hiccups. As I have a deadline to meet NOW, I'm pushing it as much as possible and Insha Allah we'll go there together.

@machine: bro come along as you can. Even as a navigator! This trip is going to explore maximum possible terrain in the area up to, around and beyond Naran. I think it will be fun and the pic sets generated will be out of this world.

Thank you bro. The new carburetor was installed since the old carb was being a pain even with a new restore kit. Although, it was later discovered that the problem was more because of a faulty engine timing setting at that time. Anyways, a new one was installed for better performance and to avoid possible problems in the future.

The mileage I checked last time came to around 4.5-5km/l. I am still in the engine running phase. That is, the new valves are not properly seated yet and some 'kacha' is still coming out of the exhaust. My mechanic wants me to complete at least 1500kms on the engine before he will fine tune the engine for consumption. I am hoping that it will go up to 6km/l once running in is complete and the engine fine tuned. In a day or two I will check the mileage again. Will up date inshallah over the weekend.

Bro the registration cost me Rs.16600 with the 2F engine. It will be lower if a lower CC engine is installed. (the bracket changes at 2500CC I think). No speed money or agent was involved. Took the auction papers to the registration office and they sent a letter to army verifying the sale and army sent a letter back in reply and the vehicle was registered.

I think @tareen bhai has just applied for his FJ40 registration in Multan. Might wanna check with him as well.

The area was gulberg. The body work was done at Bao's Workshop. Near Cavalry bridge, opposite Designers Guild. and the initial mechanic was from Firdous Market.

I do recommend Bao's Body Shop for body and paint works. BUT I DO NOT recommend the mechanic. If you are looking for good mechanics of 4 X 4s in Lahore, let me know and I can guide you to some good ones in lahore.

The list is good. Thats all I needed to register.
The forensic lab test depends on the person sitting in the taxation department. Some are cool and don't fuss, but some can be real @$$ and would not do without a lab report.

Thanx a lot brother. So, after few of these registrations that we have seen recently, its confirmed that forensic lab testing is not a pre-requisite for auctioned (atleast for Army) vehicles. If asked by someone, means either they want bribe or wish to waste one's time.

Have tried to do my best, but went into very minute details, i.e. starting from head to toe! Ended up spending almost 800K inclusive of everything, only excluding the registration fee!
