Must say that it seems you guys had real fun.

You never posted the pics of your V8 conversion.

I just wanted to inquire; how is life with the 1UZ. Did you calculate the fuel figures on a 1UZ?

I am sure we will all appreciate if you can post the pics of the 1UZ conversion.

A.O.A Gentlemen!
I am new at PW, i bought myself an FJ40 (1984) from the army auction recently, in august! Started the restoration process on the 6th Sept and today, dated 16th Oct, i have managed to complete it Mashallah. Have tried to do my best, but went into very minute details, i.e. starting from head to toe! Ended up spending almost 800K inclusive of everything, only excluding the registration fee! Will post some pics soon and would appreciate your feedback and suggestions! Thank you guys!

I hope & pray it doesn't go under the hammer (as in auction) like most completed FJ projects we have seen recently. Its always a great pleasure for the owner to enjoy such meticulous restoration as mentioned by @Tarin.

Totally agree with Tareen borther here. Must enjoy the effort we put into restoring such classics. Everything should not be commercial.

life with the 1UZ is, well... very nice and in the fast lane
I am glad I went for the 1UZ rather than any other diesel engine. It is excellent in mid to high end torque and the fuel consumption is not that bad either. on M2 I got 7.78km to a litre. On climbs and off roads with high revving I still manage to get around 6.

All thanks to Saqib Janjua.. aka.. JANJ !! he has done an amazing job in the swap and setting the ratios on inJun.

This is great to see after a long travel and off roading in northern areas that how much have you done on this machine.

That said, it is not polite to post pictures of your vehicle and invite comments on it as well on somebody else's space. I hope you can understand and will start a new space dedicated to your vehicle rather than using this one, which is dedicated to inJun.
