HI there, I just bought a 1989 jap model Accord EX auto transmission. 1600cc A16 engine.
It shifts abnormally when engine warms up (like after 5-10mints of driving in morning).
It does not up shift up easily when from 2nd to 3rd and up to 5th, instead goes to higher rpms like 3500 - 4k and then shifts with a jerk..
In traffic it shifts down to 1st gear on high rpms when it should take 2nd gear as it is already in good movement.
As per mechanic there are two cables that make shift up/down on this model.
The throttle cable and governer cable.
Multiple settings have been checked but issue is not resolving.
Now mechanic says to change the cables and the fluid in transmission also.
Pls guide regarding the matter and for fluid change.
