Engine with low compression is very good for boost applications on stock setup... As high compression engines need full built setup to run else to much boost blows the piston.
And yes 1gfe can be turboed easily... With aftermarket kits as well as custom kits. I've done it successfully twice n thrice on 1g,1jz.
I'm very old n experienced in boost applications whether it's supercharging or turbocharging...
Remember one thing boost is love but boost has some constraints... More power more air more fuel and it eats loads of money... 1gfe turbo if done properly will eat at least 2.5-3 lacs..
