Hello guys
I have toyota mark 2 2003 model with 1gfe stock engine(automatic)
I am thinking to add more power by adding turbo in it
I want a suggetion regarding it k i can simply add a turbo kit or engine k parts bhi change krne prenge for instance camp ring piston. The mechanic of my area suggested to change camps cause its(1gfe) already a low compression engine wrna engine urh jaiga. Internet says k direct turbo kit lagao Please guide

before you fall trap to any nonsense. Please read tech specs of 1GFE. Do some in depth research for adding an after market turbo unit to it over Crown / Cresta forums.

correct me for reading CAMPS please . do you mean CAM Shaft.?

if it is an stock engine in 2003 Toyota it is 3rd gen VVTI and does not have hydraulic valve lifters.

First adding a turbo is never easy as it sounds like. Even if engine is low compression. N/A engines from factory are not designed to handle boost.
Does those turbo kits came with ecu?
It's better if you swap it with 1GGTE if you can find one. With complete wiring and ecu.

Once I said if you need power don't waste your precious time and money on builds sell your ride and buy with a stock larger engine you will love it.

What is the condition of the current engine.?

Adding turbo means your have to address the ecm as well so getting yourself caught in this Hassel why don't you swap it with 2JZ GE NA engine your power demands will be fulfilled easily.

Engine with low compression is very good for boost applications on stock setup... As high compression engines need full built setup to run else to much boost blows the piston.
And yes 1gfe can be turboed easily... With aftermarket kits as well as custom kits. I've done it successfully twice n thrice on 1g,1jz.

I'm very old n experienced in boost applications whether it's supercharging or turbocharging...
Remember one thing boost is love but boost has some constraints... More power more air more fuel and it eats loads of money... 1gfe turbo if done properly will eat at least 2.5-3 lacs..

So it's better to have this car sold and buy a N/A 2JZ stock vehicle it will satisfy his power needs as in 1G VVti is a square engine and lacks low end torque which this man is missing 2 JZ will fulfill his demands easily.
Where as turboing this current engine needs to be builded from head to toe as the Con rods are not like normal 1G-FE old distributor type rods and tends to bend under 7- 8 psi boost. So it's far better to go for 2JZ stock rather then spending 3 K lacs on this motor

This mark II also comes with 1JZ-GTE (twin turbo) engine. have driven the same car with 1JZ-GTE and auto transmission..it was generating in excess Of 260hp and massive torque which was enough to glue me to the drivers seat..

I think you can swap 1gfe with the above engine and it should fit without any major modification.
