This engine is also a GTE model. Meaning it has the G (performance Head), T (turbocharger), E (EFI).
Toyota added a variable valve timing mechanism to the engine's head in this model of the engine. They call it VVTi, which is a computer controlled mechanism of altering the engine's valve timing according to specific driving conditions. The advantage is better emissions, fuel economy and more torque spread more widely over the rpm range of the engine.
Waleed, that would probably be more expensive as the 2nz is a 1.3 and hence very much in demand with the corollas and stuff. If you have to swap, then go for the best combination I would suggest.
