1KD Injectors Failure & Carbon Build-Up

Hello dear PW peeps...i'm facing a problem in my hilux involving misfire,black smoke from exhaust, power loss & before that there was always a slight knocking during normal operations until total failure.
When we took out the injectors, I could notice heavy deposit builds-up of carbon.
Since I bought it second hand, it might have had its injectors changed or something....but the point on which I want to have an experienced advice is that, my diesel guy suggested, the firing angle of my injectors is not according to the particular specifications of the engine so the tips on the injectors would have to be replaced. I can't recall the difference in angles he was telling but this is the situation i'm stuck in.
Please can any one of the PW titans guide me on this trickery which is cost effective or spending full bucks is the only way to salvation.

if the angle or spray pattern is not ok then you'll experience knocking and other performance issues

are you being offered new or used nozzle tips??

Actually the injectors in question have eight micro ports and tips on mine's were spraying fine after cleaning & testing on the diesel pressure rig, only their spraying angle is different, claims the mechanic.
He's offering the used ones. I didn't knew if I could get new tips exclusively, & not the whole injector, or can i get them for 1-KD?

IIRC you can, it will be tough these days with the lockdown in effect and all but send me your vehicles chassis no and I'll let you know tomorrow

Ok thank-you sir i'll PM you the chassis no. btw one more thing popped into my mind, can I make alterations to the EGR system of my engine as according to mechanics, these are responsible for more then half of carbon deposit build-up inside manifolds and valves, but is it a rational decision to do this cuz these D4D engines are crazy complicated.

get the intake system serviced now and then run it hard every once or twice a week for about 20 mins and you wont have the EGR system clogging the intake manifold / valves anymore. Let the EGR do its job, its beneficial on these engines, old 1kz types are a different story

Thanks aton @syncview bro....I was finally able to get my hands on the required nozzle tips....definitely used ones AKA da notorious "Kabulies", but its the fourth day of installation and the truck is sailing smoothly for the time being....lets see what the future hold for this....I also did a few high speed runs on
lahore RR as per ur advise...will revert to you in case of another failure:P

I'll have a solution for you in a few weeks which will consist of brand new nozzles, not denso original but chinese and good quality; and cheap too. We're going to test them then offer to the market.

Oh thats good news...looking forward to that, & yes denso OEMs do cost a leg & an arm, well in theory they're the ones to go with but will definitely try the alternatives...wish you the best in your efforts.
