2.2 Million budget Brv or GLI

I always see owners of 1.6 complaining about fuel economy.
GLI Manual gives 12-13 to me within city which I m sure way better than 1.6.

for a 1.3, in this day and age, 12-13 is not acceptable, grande does that in local, and so does the 1.6, in long, 1.6 touches 15, 1.8 touches 16.5 and 1.3 comes to 12. All these when kept at 125 kmh, anything slower on the motorway is a hazard to themselves and other drivers, unless ofcourse they drive in the slow lane

My cousin has xli with around 4k+ odo and his car average is above 12 and I just bought new gli with odo under 1k again giving average in b/w 12-13. I heard average gets better after 1st 5k oil change so let's see.
Also topic on this forum about 1.3 fuel average and owners shared similar averages.
On long I m sure it will easily give 15+.

I have a 1.6 it gives around 10 in city with ac and on Motorway at 120 around 15.5. my friend has a gli auto and in city it gives 9 and in Motorway at 120 it gives around 12-13.5 in his experience. He recently sold it and bought a facelift manual gli. This has better fuel efficiency than the 1.6 because the transmission (4 speed ect) is absolute garbage.

Only thing I am concerned about its Power to Weight Ratio and seats comfort.

Vitara base version slightly used is selling for 24 to 26 Lacs and its resale would be more down in future.
Suzuki has done injustice to Ciaz and Vitara which are better cars incomparison to Gli and br-v

Only reason for selection of Brv over gli if following is true.

Brv has better road grip,handling and brakes then corrola GLI or not?
Brv has more torque and better 0-100 in comparison to corrola GLI
Brv seats are more comfortable then GLI or not.

I never drove both cars for longer distance so cant say anything.

I never drove GLI current generation,ppl say that handling and brakes are not up to the mark.
Also Performance is low.
But i remember i was doing 140 on motorway on my 9th gen and GLI crossed me fairly quick.
I heard at higher revs it performs very well.

Gli is underpowered as compared to brv and road grip and ground clearance better in brv..and you feel not good if you switch to gli after selling civic.

Frankly speaking i didn't feel anything like underpowered, It touches 120 effortlessly in city.
Also during my visit to northern areas, mostly I see Xlis which were climbing comfortably with 4-5 passengers.
Still, this is very subjective topic and people usually ended up comparing it with their more powerful engines where defnt 1.3L lacks.
Agree with you, test drive both on high speed and rough road.

They both are not comparable in any of the following sense;
1. Engine Category (1300vs1500)
2. Tax Category (major difference in taxes and tokens)
3. Car type Category (Sedan vs MPV)
4. Volume (boot space)
5. Drive
6. Seating Capacity (5 vs 7)
7. Utility (urban sedan vs offroad MPV)
8. Fuel consumption and styling
I think once you can answer these questions, you'll be in a better position to differentiate into a GLi or BRV user. Gli auto is a major no no, besides if you feel indifferent about the cost then you should go for BRV.

One of the biggest brv advantage is cvt. Ppl are more inclined toward auto transmissions.
Corrola has given facelift but still same generation.
I believe brv current generation would stay for longer time and corrola might come with next generation in 2019

I know both belong to different segments of vehicles right now question is which is better value for money and resale is also important factor

Value for money and resale are two totally different things. If you're looking for resale ur a mehran customer and if you're looking for value for money you may consider Aqua.

Similarly one can never equate GLi resale to the value for money BRV has. I think due to the superior segment BRV will have better value for money, while it won't have bad resale either, but nothing compared to GLi

Today

I test drove both brv and gli and also got chance to drive my cousin suzuki ciaz
GLI WAS 2015 model 43000km driven with Advan tires 205/65 tires on 7"alloys (belong to my coleague.)
Brv was 2017 model 14000 km driven
Brv was on sale and dealer(friend) allowed me to drive
I drove both cars around 50km including motorway from Multan to Khanewal and now for me it's very hard to
switch from 9th generation as drive of both vehicle is inferior.
Here is my findings
Brv seats are not comfortable and drive is smooth
Engine is noisy with some vibrations
Ac is very good
Power seems reasonable
Brakes are good
Suspension is impressive little hard but grip
I didnt feel stability issue
I touched 140 easily after 140 engine felt under stress but manged to reach 150 but too much noise.
Gli was sluggish from 0 to 80 but in 4th gear I touched 130 and after 5th gear it was very impressive I touched 170 easily.
High speed is felt after 140 but stability was bad i felt I m on water
Brakes are okish not crispy
Ac is good but not better than my civic.
Cabin vibration and road noise was less then brv
Suspension is impressive no bumps felt anywhere.
In short it was giving me feeling of driving Suv whose bonet is not visible.
Regarding ciaz I drove for few km it was so refined and I got impressed on lot of things suspension was stiff on high speed and soft over bumps reasonable quick 0 to 100 was close to my civic
Ac was chilling .
Conclusion
Corrola is unsafe for civic driver coz you are used to sharp cornering and sudden braking
It only suits roads which are broken and driving below 100 km
Brv is strange mixture of sedan and suv it's High
From ground but drives like car but stability is not compromised.
Ciaz is all rounder complete Sedan for Pakistani market but I can't risk my money on some thing which is uncertain

Yeah, uncertainty is there but still for next 2-3 years Ciaz would matter a bit in the market and after that no one knows!
-Pak Suzuki ruined Ciaz, though! No marketing strategy, no future plans, nothing.

If you increase your budget to about 26-27 lacs maybe you can find a vitara. The thing with getting a vitara for this price is that when you sell it maybe 3 years later the price may decrease to 23-24 lacs, surely it cant go under 20 lacs. But the quality of vitara like ciaz would be better as compared to others in the market. Also keep in mind that parts may not be available once its discontinued which it is destined to be. Waisay eik banda tha suzuki kee top kee managment mein uss kaay paas vitara hai aur side mirrors churi hogaye thaay tou woh bhi available nahi thaay, suzuki walo naay eik mahina lagaya side mirrors import karnay kaay liyay.
