In all fairness, the SX4 does have a bit of a disproportionately large backside, but it still looks better than the rather bland Liana.

fir to sab acha hai , no like seriusly, We Pakistanis are so obsesed about the margalla, 99 City, 96 Civic, and the Indus 92 Corolla that we just dont accept changes that easily.

We love the corolla as it is, as the cars shapes still trendy, no body liked the Axio Corolla here,

Same happend with the Optra, Aveo, Liana, and then Sx-4.

And belive u me in pics Sx4s back side isnt realy apealing, probably becasue i saw alot of sx4 (hatchbacks) on my trip to malaysia

You're very right about your market being resistant to changes in design. Why is that?. Also, i hated the Aerio/Liana the first time i set sight on the car and it has nothing to do with your market. After visiting PW i found that it is still being sold in Pak and i was actually angry that Suzuki would have the nerve to dump such an ugly/basic car and expect you guys to pay more than a million for it. The SX4 sedan is more elegant overall, despite the large rear design and the driving dynamics are good and i credit FIAT more than Suzuki for that. I'm eagerly awaiting the Kizashi here to see if Suzuki has finally grown up and started designing proper cars. Atleast they got the design and proportions right this time.

But isnt the Kizashi set to target Accord type of cars? I still wish and hope for Paksuzukis well being and that they get better sales out of Sx4.

You're right about the Kizashi but i was talking about the overall dynamics of the car and whether it can stand up to the competition. Maruti has no worries as the Sarkar will buy the Kizashi anyways even if the public rejects the car in India. Most of the SX4s are bought by the Govt. in India. I wish PakSuzuki well too but you know the Germans. And this is my understanding of them. They're merciless and efficient. They wouldn't invest money in any venture unless they have a carefully thought out plan and a definite result. That's why i came to this conclusion that i shared with you. In secret, ofcourse.

VW continues to make the original Passat in China so that's not the issue. Something else i would rather not get into here. Make a powerpoint presentation and send it over.You never know.

It's unconceivable that PakSuzuki will price the Cultus and Swift at similar levels. The Cultus is the one that pays the bills and not the Swift. And, that's my opinion and this thread is meaningless is my conclusion.

Alto and Swift can become the bill payers, but then i think, Paksuzuki is completly operational by the Japanese people, so they might have had thot of sumthing so they are sticked with the Cultus and the Mehran

thats really a good news .....well i have experienced the ride of sx4 in china n to me it was the best suzuki made car i have experienced uptill now n common guys it is not a bad car at all but i think as other people have mentioned it wud be a flop in pak n people keep on buying feature less cars in future...

A person from Suzuki management, told me that they are testing the CNG performance and fuel system at Karachi base. & CNG variant will also hit the market after satisfactory performance on CNG.

they did the same back in 98-99 with Baleno.. a stripped version was available for 4.99 back then.. but somehow that stripped version wasn't so popular. was called Baleno EL or something similar.. lets see what our people do if they introduce a stripped swift priced same as a cultus, PS is getting the taste of its own medicine here actually.. people believe spending 600k on a mehran is worth just because its cheaper to maintain and has better resale.. Liana VURV has even low sales than the older Liana with all those discounts & value features that no one else offers in that class.

cultus will probably be discontinued.. it is already out-of-date and has been made hideous with those horrible modifications.. they are definitely juicing it for all its worth now..

I sort of agree with NaXuN's reply about SX4 being a flop.Its the mentality of our people!they are stuck in XLi's and 2deeee's!No one wants to take a step away from honda and toyota!If people took a step away from toyota and honda,Liana could also have been an hit!But everyone was to obsessed to toyota and honda!

2011 will bring us 4 years old vehicles upto 1600cc from All right hand drive vehicle countries :), seems like automotive industry have failed to TOP-UP the extortion demands of the policy makers, people in UK are gearing to dump their Japanese stuff in PK. - (UK have revised the insurance & road worthiness policy for cars older the 4 years or no accident 70,000 km done asian imports )

Opinion about design/aesthetics are a personal thing I believe.

People say Liana is disproportionate, I say the Honda city has been disproportionate since 2003. even the new one! Just look at the back, yet it sells more than Suzuki and is more "acceptable" by the public.
