2 Radiators blown up on half temperature gauge

I have Cuore 2006 Automatic, since the starting of summers i am facing engine heating up issue on AC. The radiator Fan is directly and i think the thermostat is also missing. Without AC car is running perfectly but the temperature needle freeze on "C" or on the line just above "C". But with AC on engine heats up instantly and the needle goes between "C" and mid point of the gauge and in the traffic needle goes to mid and I thought it is normal. But last month i was stuck in traffic with AC on and suddenly i see smoke under my car's bonnet. That's it! 1st Radiator Blown, and today same thing happens again.

According to 3 mechanics gasket and everything is fine, could you please suggest, how can i resolve this issue.

Which radiator do you have? Local silver (aluminium) or branded copper? Same thing happened to me and yes TWICE! Get a copper one. Plus check if your fan is on optimum speed or not! Going to mid is totally normal. In my car as usual mechanic just made the fan direct and removed the t-stat but even then the radiator blew up. The issue was as simple as the fan not running up to maximum speed. Now my fan is on auto with the t-stat and runs perfectly with or without AC. Get your system checked by Toyota preferably or some trusted mechanic.

what exactly is local silver or branded copper?

the auto cuore came with a denso aluminum radiator which was imported. as thal engineering was not manufacturing aluminum radiators at that time.

copper radiator was being manufactured by allwin and loads in karachi.

the problem is not at all with the radiator.

Local silver is low quality silver which doesn't handle the pressure. Branded aluminum and copper are better quality made and are much more prone to the stress levels that they have to bear due to the heat of the engine. It is all about the manufacturing process. And this is not uncommon in Karachi that you go to buy good aluminum radiator and get a local silver one. TBH before the mechanic messed up my Cuore's cooling system, it had an Aluminum Double channel (naali in ustaad lingo) radiator and worked fine for 4 years but usko t-stat nikalna tha aur meri achi bhali gaari mess up karni thi. Jab t-stat nikala tou fan ki speed kam hoti gayi IDK why and then 2 radiators (which I suspect were local - coz I didn't see forward to it) blew up. Now after getting irritated from mechanics I installed a copper core one! So yeah I agree with you but radiator check karwa liya jaye tou behter hai.

From where did you purchase copper radiator?

are you using coolant? or using plain water?

if your water pump ok?

is there any air lock in the system?

your cuore cooling system works at 13 psi, before you drive your car, you can install water and install pressure rig to raise pressure to 15 psi and check if the system leaks - if it leaks. fix that before road testing the car.

Change the water pump metal intake pipe too as it will be corroded and blocked which prevents coolant/water from circulating. (This happens when you dont use engine coolant mixed with water)

Really great point. The water pump intake looked crappy but I got it cleaned. Right now the system works fine for about 3 months. I used vinegar and water (1:16) for half a day and then flushed the system three times with baking soda with the new copper radiator on. Now I use Osaka coolant in it. But is there any place in Karachi where I could get it checked using a pressure rig? Coz in Johar mechanics are all about paisa baaqi apki gaari band hojaye koi zimedari nhi. T-stat nikalne ke baad hi first gasket kharab hoi then cooling system one by one fail hota gya. Now thank God everything is fine.

Yes I am using coolant, the prev owner used water. The water pump was rusted all over, now it is clean and lookin great! And I got rid of the air lock.

Osaka coolant is not coolant, its same as using tap water.

Sad lyf for my Cuore! Where should I buy from then and what brand in Karachi? What is your review about Caltex, Liqui Moly and Aisin? Gotta get some good one for my car!

If you need 4 liters of coolant, order two bottles (you will add an equal amount of distilled water).
