2003 BMW 730D/730i

Hi everyone,

i was a little confused and i needed the help of u guys.I wanted to know the safe price to buy a 2003 Bmw 730...preferably petrol, best if its an ' Li ', if not then diesel with a mileage of abt 60K-80K, as its an old model.There are a couple of 2003 730D at reasonable price but not soo sure abt the luxury car tax there.On all of them luxury car tax is not payed n if i wud hav to pay that then there is noo point, it wud b very expensive.So tell me the real story of the luxury car tax, which is applicable in punjab n also the price of the specified bimmer.Also us there ny price difference between petrol n diesel.If someone is selling a bimmer then let me know.

@triedisback, its not about having poor english, sometimes u r posting something n due to some problem some words r left out, the computer gets stuck or by mistake u have ur finger on the shift button or for any X,Y,Z problem things dont turn out the way u want them to but u can always get an idea n figure things out by the flow of words.The same way u typed 'but' rather than 'buy'....nyways thanx for ur help n yeah by the way for a 2003 7 series, no more than 40 lacks should b paid, i have an idea abt the pricing but wanted to get quotes from the gurus.

I dont think the price should exceed 5/5.5 million for what youre looking for, but I think the petrol (L/i) versions are usually cheaper in the Pak used luxury car market because HOBC is much more expensive than diesel and availability is also a key issue. Also, while people complain of low-quality diesel for BMW diesel engines, people also complain about low-quality, low-octane HOBC.

My recommendation is hence a 730d or 730Ld (est.5.0M PKR) but if you want more power, dont opt for a 730i 3.0L V6, rather a 740, 745 or something as such. I once (in 2009) saw a green BMW 745Li model 2004 being offered for sale on PakWheels for 38 lakh rupees. I believe this was in Islamabad, it had about 80k km, seemed to be in good shape and probably low priced because of very low demand for petrol variants of such vehicles because operating cost is VERY high.
