i have an Inuds corolla 1999 GL with 2E 1.3 engine. the car & engine are both almost 14years old now. as reliable as this corolla is, all these years have taken its toll on it. the engine specifically is weaker now. its making a bit of smoke, drags on in traffic, has oil coming out on top of engine cover and getting into the air filter. however rest of the car itself is in pretty good condition.
heres what i want your opinion on.
i have recently become intersted in the 2004/2005 mitsubishi lancer. i have found them to be in my price range after i sell this car. it will be much newer/fresher and in better working order than this corolla...after all new is new old is old. i want to know whether selling the corolla & getting a 1.3 2004 or 2005 lancer would be good for me? i want something new, fresh, economical (corolla's giving me 17kms per liter, went 34kms on 2liters!), want something that wont have the little bits of developing problems such as rattling door panels, worn out lights, unfresh interior, creaking speaker coves etc.
wat do you people think?
any of you owned it?
hows its economy, ride, reliability etc?
