AOA everyone,
I have a 2009 corolla altis 1.8 A/T.
I have been noticing for a few months that when i start the car in the morning (in Lahore summer temperatures), i warm up the engine for 1 min which brings the temp gauge to above the quarter mark (it eventually goes almost to the half mark).
But when i start driving it, it goes up to 3rd gear with normal speed but it refuses to shift into 4th gear.
For this, what i do is stop the car and turn it off and on a couple of times. Only then it starts to shift normally into the 4th gear.
What could the issue be? i do not want to go to the mechanic at the moment since mechanics just recommend a change of the entire assembly (something they say with conviction without thinking out of their box).
Someone told me this is not a big issue and i should consult the internet. So here i am. Any valid suggestions will be highly appreciated!
btw, fluid level is normal.
Havent changed it in the last 30k kms.
