I have been stung too many times like this, so I dont even bother unless Im 100% sure I can "see" the end of the job.
e.g. timing ford 2.3 engine requires timing tools - If I try to do it with andaaza and not following the spec of changing the bolts and washers - I lose the engine.- I can end up with a VVTi problem on those if I dont follow the unlocking and torquing sequence of the pulley, I can also end up with bad situation if I dont bother to buy brand new updated genuine parts and use aftermarket or old part.
SO
Buy the toolset - and make sure to you can actually torque the stuff down, e.g. the ford engine above - has a total torque requirement of about 330 lb/ft on the crank pulley. If you dont do that in the steps mentioned exactly by Ford, you are buying a new engine. The steps include new bolt and new friction washers for the timing set.
