Agreed, but majority of folks are point A to B - so Japanese vehicles are a no brainer, they last you a while if you do regular oil changes.

So I was able to pull all injectors with a bit of struggle and they were just as bad as the other side, completely drenched in oil.

I went ahead and replaced teflon injector seals

After a lot of fighting, removed the valve cover

Gunky valve cover, cleaned it up with degreaser

Removed the old gasket and oil separator

Installed the gasket and new oil separator

Vacuum pumps tend to fail in these engines around 70,000 miles mark, generally people suggest to replace the gasket but I went ahead and bought the whole unit.

It's held down by 3 E8 torx bolts, two were fairly easy to remove, the one at the bottom of the unit has been a pain to remove, still fighting it.

Here's the new unit

Did you get to check the spraying pattern of nozzles? Was it fine?

Truck didn't have any issues in general except oil leaks. Since I was ripping it apart, it's good to replace gaskets and seals because they might cause issues when you put everything back together and it seemed like these injectors came from factory.

By the way, each injector is $260 (about $2,000 for 8) - and they need to be coded as well.

Fair enough. No need to change if these were not giving any trouble.

Very costly bill for the complete set of injectors, btw.

Correct, the reason I numbered them is because each injector is coded to a specific cylinder and it has to go back to the same.

There are exciting Japanese cars just as there are boring German appliances, even within any one make. One just has to choose the configuration properly, that is all.

Haha absolutely not!! Japanese are the best in terms of reliability and durability. What I meant to say was majority of point A to B folks trust Japanese. Don't get me wrong there are high end Japanese makes and models as well.

Old vacuum pump removed and installed the new one.

Old vs New comparison - new one appears to be slightly different design but it's the same part number.

Yep, I'm glad too and I had no plans to touch or mess with any electricals. There are sensors that fail every now and then but Alhumdolillah nothing of that sort. I'll be opening up the transmission to pull the mechatronics unit, let's see how that goes.

Replaced the CCV line for Cyl 1-4

New on the left and old on the right

Valve cover put back and torqued down

Installed the injectors

Replaced some of the vacuum hoses that I won't have access to once everything is put back, and also because I didn't know how much I'd need, so I ordered only 3 meters for $86.31 - expensive vacuum hoses! Lol

Will get back to the rest later today, Insha'Allah!
