this thread is book marked. am wondering how would dewan (bmw dealer in PK) work out their way into such issues. tubes pipes tubes pipes & more tubes pipes even a trained desi techy will go in spin and collapse with hemorrage. Though with access to manual it is tricky to do it in my opinion.

Made some progress last night - put the hard fuel lines back and they had to be torqued to 10nm and retorqued twice to 30nm and it was frustrating to find space to get through the torquing process, took about 2 hours, so couldn't take a lot of photos.

This side's heat exchanger wasn't as gunky as the other, so quickly cleaned it up

Turned out pretty decent

Most of cyl 1-4 electrical is put back together, I've set the heat exchanger where it goes but I haven't bolted it down - I'll bolt it down later tonight insha'Allah and route the hoses correctly.

All new intake boots/CCV system

Alright, so I'm getting there.

Replaced turbo coolant lines for both turbos

Replaced filler neck gasket

This is about as far as I got last night.

Spent couple of hours putting everything back together. Interestingly there is a certain way everything goes back together, so I went through a bit of back and forth with putting heat shields back only to figure out one or the other part goes back on first. I have to clip on vacuum hoses and couple of other smaller pieces - before I completely button it up, I'll go ahead and replace power steering reservoir and flush out the fluid while I have the space.

It does look very scary and my biggest concern was putting things back together, and honestly speaking it wasn't as bad I thought it would be.

So I had to replace Power Steering Fluid reservoir and flush the fluid - there are several ways it can be done, I opted for the following process;
Extracted the old fluid from the old reservoir
Replaced it with the new one
Connected the feed line
Filled up with new fluid
Extracted fluid from the return line until I saw new fluid - I'll run a few cycles and pour in new fluid after extracting old one.

Comparison between old and new fluid - I didn't have containers handy, so paper towel worked! Lol

Also had to replace some brittle plastic pieces that broke as I was ripping things apart - you touch them and they break into pieces

EVERYTHING has been put back together, except the air intake and covers around the firewall - I still need to flush brake fluid, so they'll remain off until I'm done with that.

I got rilon used one for 16k
It is a 170A and got torch for 8k
Argon cylinder for 20,500 and 3500 for refill.
However tungsten is for 200-250pkr
Bought a 0.8mm hard wire roll ms for 5500 and thick 2.0mm rods for 600 pack of 12pcs.

Rest welding gloves for 800 and
Auto darkening helmet ingco for 6500-7000

Prices you listed are 20-30% more or expensive in your city.
For example tungsten cost 100-200 depends upon mm ( i use 1.6mm cost 150). Filler rod ER70S 2.0mm cost 300 per kg. Argon cylinder is 2000 for refill.

I was able to put everything back together. Replaced cabin air filters, they were clogged.

While putting everything back together

Took it out for a spin, Alhumdolillah no issues. I'll monitor for next couple of days.

All the mess that was left behind.

Next up will be brake fluid flush - I plan on doing in one go. I have tools for single person flush, that will make the job easy insha'Allah.

No, just has a very spongy pedal. I'll start with a fluid flush and see if it improves.

Although I need not tell you because you are a real pro, but please check brake master cylinder also.
