• To me Altis SR (both M/T and A/T) are flop; their prices are too high and one should get Civic Oriel instead; Civic Oriel has even higher price; but you will get "exclusive" shape, dual air bags, in-dash CD Changer and better interior. You will only miss ECO METER. Its not that big deal; if it is for you; you can always get ScanGuage like tools (10k - 20k)
• Altis A/T is also flop; no fun without tiptronic; get M/T instead for even better fuel consumption
• GLI A/T apparently looks better; but Altis M/T has loads of feature for slightly higher price and you will only loose A/T geatbox but get driver side air bag and loads of other features (which to me is much better deal)

I am disappointed by this discussion. Why everyone is worrying about accessories than the engine size? I am interested in Altis but why would I pay almost the same price (well, just 90k less) as Civic Oriel and get 50 less horses? (90 horses of Altis to 140 Civic). Am I getting something wrong here? Why make Altis's engine 1.8 to 1.6? That is the question for me not alloy wheels and other crap that I can get from Plaza. I am getting engine power specs from the Indus's website. Toyota is robbing us blind.

I already did the test drive for A/T Altis. I didn’t feel any difference in acceleration and believe me 1600 / 1800 is only a fear. Dual VVTI is good technology. It has less engine noise and other functions adding value.

@Rizwan 400. Congratulations in advance. Trust me you'll enjoy driving this car. This car is a complete package I'e enough power from a 1.6 lit engine, comfortable noise free drive , excellent brakes and above all very good fuel Economy which is very important. My car is giving around 11.5 with a/c on city driving. What else u want from a medium size family sedan. Post your review when your car arrives. Take care.

+1.200cc is a difference on paper.:).People were crying of it being 1.6.My friend is getting 12km/l average in sgd city.Engine is very quiet.If you are standing next to the car outside you cant tell that engine is start.DAMN it has quietest level.

If some one plans to go for Civic Oriel MT now and also foresee to upgrade to 9th Gen Civic as and when released in Pk...

How much this 8th gen Civic is going to lose on resale keeping in view the fact the 9th gen is a whole new shape, i.e a whole new car.

And let say, if that "some one" is a salaried man and will be putting his hard and long earned saved money so to say cannot afford a substantial resale loss.... to top it off, that some one might be me

I have been through a lot deciding between the two (Altis MT and ORIEL MT)... I went to see both cars today and to my surprise Civic Oriel is NOT available in FSD ! I visited both Honda Showrooms and neither of them have Civic on display and neither is it available !

Went to Toyota and without a doubt New Altis Impresses ! The workman ship in the interior is far more superior then any other local cars in the market !

I will post my detailed analysis and my choice very soon as I plan to get one booked before 10th July

All the Altis and Civic variants except VTI Oriel / Cruisetronic SR had poor resale value then top variants.

In top (VTI Oriel Prosmatic & Cruisetronic SR) Civic win the race.

That is something i liked, And ur right, people actualy dont agree to this, Altho Civics interior looks better, (looks like a cockpit) But Quality of plastics used in Corolla interior are better.

Not in these days.... All civic and city models selling @ premium price. Currently Civic oriel / prosmatic / Navi @ 2.2 millions (A) other Civic variants @ 100000 premium. City @ 75000. Booking time 2 / 3 months.

Toyota Altis all variants @ 100000
GLI @ 55000

Please note that this premium will be add in old invoice price (A)
